1 Timothy 1:8-11

Paul establishes the proper use of the law, opposed to the improper use abused by the teachers of the law in Ephesus. For us, we learn that the law function like a bit and bridle, to guide us in the way of the Christian life. Once we comply with its instruction and learn virtue, we still wear the bit and bridle, but it is not necessarily to bring us to rein.
