Christ on the Cross cried, "It is finished!" (John 19:30), meaning His work for the redemption of God's elect was complete. Nothing of the flesh need be added to it. In fact, it is criminal if we seek to add any of our works to His perfect work. Salvation is the Gift of God and Christ is the only Saviour; hence the Crucified One is a Lord knowing sure victory in all that He sets out to accomplish.
