Jacob's Wives and Wages

Even though Jacob was committed to the God of heaven and
earth, the God of his fathers, life was still a struggle. Contrary to
the false gospel message of health and wealth and prosperity that is
often preached around the world, one's commitment to follow after
God doesn't erase the natural consequences of our sin, nor does it
promise an easy life going forward.
