The reformation spread to a strongly Roman Catholic England where men like John Wycliff, Thomas Bilney, William Tyndale started reading, teaching, and translating the scriptures for the people of England. Though persecuted these men challenged the Roman Catholic Church and the rulers of England. Not all the rulers were saved, but became vital in expelling the strong influence of the Catholic church from England. The Gospel continued to spread to common people.
