Boycott the Sinners prayer - an embarrassment to True Biblical Evangelism

The goal of evangelism is to get someone to Christ, not to get someone to pray.

This controversial sermon on the sinner's prayer is much needed in our day.

The sinner's prayer was popularized in the 1950's through Billy Graham.
The sinner's prayer continued to grow in popularity through 1970's - 1980's through Campus Crusade for Christ and Bill Bright.
Also making popular the sinner's prayer was Jack Hyles who was quoted as saying: "You must try to get them to pray."

However, Jesus confronted Nicodemus with his need for a spiritual birth.
Jesus brings up the immoral lifestyle with the woman at the well.
Jesus told the rich young ruler to sell all that he had.

Jesus confronted sin with a negative message.

This is important because so many today JUST want to talk about love and encouragement and pray a quick prayer.
This is an unbiblical philosophy that is damning many to hell as false converts.

This sermon on evangelism compels you to present the gospel as found in 1 Corinthians 15.

Salvation is not a sinner's prayer. Salvation is a sinner entering into a relationship with Jesus Christ.
