5 Contentment with Money

Have you wondered why Jesus, after saying no man can serve two masters, describes the two masters as being God and money? Why money?

I believe Jesus is decribing two opposing world views. One worldview sees money as a treasure that we should seek and use to find our happiness. The other, the Christian worldview, sees money as a tool for our sanctification.

In our passage Jesus teaches that money reveals the condition of the soul.

1. Where you spend your money reveals where your heart is. 19-21

2. What your eyes look for, your heart longs for.

3. What you serve most, you value most.
