Why Demand New Birth?

When the rich learned Pharisee
Came to consult Him secretly,
Upon his heart with an iron pen
He wrote: ‘Ye must be born again’!

Nicodemus desperately needed a new birth – and so do we!

To be "born again" is not merely a matter of desirability, or advisability ... it is an issue of compelling necessity!

In this message four answers to the question 'Why The New Birth?' are given.

We "must be born again" in order to:

[1] ESCAPE FROM A GUILTY PAST.

Sin needs to be dealt with. Man's preferred options, to either Dismiss or Dismantle the Past, do not work!

Not the labour of my hands
Can fulfil Thy law's demands ... .

[2] ENROL IN A GREAT PRESENT.

The new birth allows us to really begin living!

[3] EMBRACE A GRAND PARENTAGE.

No person may become a member of God's family by any means other than the new birth; John 1:12&13.

• The new birth is the sovereign, irresistible work of God Himself;
• God the Holy Spirit makes sinners willing to come to Christ;
• The Holy Spirit of God gives the sinner faith in Christ.

[4] ENTER INTO A GLORIOUS PARADISE.
