Of Perseverance and If's

How do we rightly understand difficult passages of scripture? This passage is one of the most frequently disputed passages of the Bible and its meaning is fundamental to the comfort we derive from our faith. The promises of God are NOT changeable, so when there is a seeming conflict we must let the whole counsel of God speak and realize that the problem is with our understanding, NOT with God, His Word or His truthfulness. This sermon begins to address the questions raised in Hebrews 6 about the security of the believer, the perseverance of the saints which is a fundamental promise of God AND the crown jewel of a correct understanding of Biblical theology.
