Treasures — For Your Heart and Life
The fear of the Lord, which is the primary and principal instruction of wisdom, will always guide me to seek the Lord first. And if I'm find myself seeking the Lord and I wanna hear from Him on everything in life, that's gonna let me know I'm operating
in the fear of the Lord. But if I'm not seeking Him in what He says about myself, what He says about everyday life, what He says about what's to come if I'm not seeking the Lord on that, the only obvious conclusion I have to come to is this — I'm acting foolishly. Because I'm what, leaning on my own understanding. I'm not acknowledging Him, I'm not going to Him, and He's not guiding or directing my path. These truths help me.
Treasure is that which we work with:
It's not what we deposit FOR them but what we deposit IN them that's going to count... (Proverbs 15:6)
Now, they like counting what we deposit FOR them but what can help them long after the resources are gone is the eternal treasures we plant IN them.
"In the homes of the righteous, there is much treasure, but in the revenues of those not rightly related to God, and the adventures they afford, there will be plenty of calamity and trouble" Proverbs 15:6
Think on this: It's not what we deposit FOR them but what we deposit IN them and demonstrate BEFORE them that makes the eternal difference.
If what we do for them, is not intended to do something in them, what we do for them won't last long enough to sustain them or set them apart.
Let's hear that word one more time.
