1. What is meekness?

• Not a natural meekness
• Spiritual - a gift of God

2. Characteristics of Spiritual Meekness

• The meek person accepts God's judgment of him - Ps 73:22
• The meek person accepts and submits to God's dealings with him with a quiet spirit - 1 Sam 3:18
• The meek person commits his case to Gid and leaves it to Him to defend him when he is slandered - Num 12:3, 2 Sam 16:11-12
• A meek person is willing to be taught by the word of God - James 1:21, Ps 25:4

3. The meekness of Christ

4. How do the meek inherit the earth?

• By having peace with God - Ps 37:11, Is 26:3
• By coming to Christ in faith - Matt 11:28, Phil 3:7-8
• By following Christ and trusting in Him - Matt 11:29-30
