Sermon Point: Lavish your love on Jesus.

Sermon Outline:

1. A week before Passover, we are at supper in Bethany with Jesus, Lazarus, and the disciples (Vs. 1-2).
2. At the same time, crowds seek to see Lazarus and Jesus (Vs. 9 and 11).
3. But the chief priests oppose Jesus; He's upsetting the status quo (Vs. 11:47-48, 57; 12:10-11).
4. Back at supper, Mary anoints Jesus' feet with pure nard and uses her hair for a towel (Vs. 3).
5. Judas can't stand to see such love lavished on Jesus (Vs 4-6).
6. Jesus, on His part, encourages this devotion (Vs. 7-8).
   Conclusion: Lavish your love on Jesus.
