Deny Yourself

We do not get to choose our service, or our level of service. It is appointed to us by God. This is what our life is to be about. 'Deny yourself, take up your cross, and follow me.' Anything else is selfishness. The Lord rebuked Peter for his response, and then instructed him. He did not do this to harm or discourage his followers, but to help them grasp the greatness of the service to God. It matters HOW you serve Him.
