--The House GOP voted to boost border security by finishing the wall and hiring thousands of agents.

--Florida attorney general sues the Biden administration to stop the mass release of migrants into the U.S. along the southern border.

--Prior to the termination of Title 42, Texas Governor Greg Abbott created a new Texas tactical border force.

--Less than a day after Mayor Eric Adams announced his plan for New York City to relocate illegal immigrants to hotels in Rockland and Orange Counties, elected officials in both areas have rejected the idea and declared a state of emergency in response.

--Kathy Hochul, governor of New York, declared a state disaster emergency late Tuesday ahead of the expiration of Title 42. This allows New York to mobilize some 500 members of the National Guard that are currently providing logistical and operational support at New York City's Port Authority bus terminal and shelter sites, bringing the total mobilization to about 1,500 service members.

--As Illinois continues to welcome migrants from the Mexican border, officials are now scrambling to find the resources to care for them.

--The Department of Homeland Security released a statement at midnight Thursday as Title 42 was expiring saying the border is not open.

--A federal judge in Florida temporarily blocked the Biden administration from releasing illegal immigrants into the U.S. without court dates as the nation braces for a surge of illegal border crossings.
