A Gracious God Is in Control

Elisha's miracles and moving among kings should not hide what is really going on in him and through him. He knows Israel big story of God's redemption—his kindness to Israel and the world. He refuses to let any other agenda take over. He has what I call a 'top down' view of trust in God.

This is the faith Christ has opened up for us. We live as those who live in the 'story' he is writing, the kingdom he is building. When we know this, the inadequacies we feel and the difficulties through which we pass become the landscape on which God reveals his presence and his future—for us, and for those whose lives we touch.
