We've been to quite a few churches locally before we found Westside. And to be quite honest, Westside was unique. I didn't come here really for God. I came here for sign language, but I found God in the process. People immediately started befriending us and were very welcoming. Westside Baptist Church is a community of believers who enjoy seeing one another and encouraging one another. It's always good to know that wherever you go, God's people will be there because God is there. Sunday morning, like I said, we come together to worship the Triune God. We take our worship time seriously, and we focus on the Word, and we carefully select hymns that are biblically based. Music in the church is primarily all of us worshiping God together, because that's what the focus of the, definitely the Sunday morning service, but every time we gather, it's to be worshiping and learning about our Lord. Sunday morning is very joyful. We all come together to glorify God and enjoy Him together. We never want to have a Sunday morning worship where people feel like they're just coming in to check a box, that they're doing their obligation to come to church during the week, and I don't feel that when we gather on Sunday mornings. The Bible and the truth of the Bible is the priority of what's being taught. It's not about necessarily like fluff and just making you feel good and entertaining you. It's about really strengthening, strengthening people and like the truth of God's Word. Allegiance to the Word of God becomes the glue that binds us together rather than allegiance to a particular personality or a particular style or particular any of the things that sort of churches are branded by in our culture. I feel I've learned something every Sunday. Every passage is applicable to your everyday life. You can always take something home. It's always convicting. I leave joyful but crushed under the conviction of my own sin. We just kind of want to get out of the way and lead people into the presence of the Lord. He preaches the Word of God, and he preaches Christ to us, which is that man who cares. And the people all listen to that, and we listen to that, and we all care about each other. They make you feel like you belong from the minute you walk in the door. So it's very comfortable. I love that I'm just part of the family, too. part of the family as a mom and a wife and I can constantly glean wisdom. You know and it also forces you a little bit out of your comfort zone to develop those relationships. We have anyone here we could call and rely on and they would come with no questions asked and that's something I think even most blood families don't even do. Westside is my family like I I can't even put into words how deeply God has used the warp and woof of the fellowship and relationships and the rhythms of our church to just keep me in the faith. The church isn't out there in the mountains, in the streams, on a lake fishing. We err when we think that is the church. The church is a place for us to gather and encourage one another, and I feel that when I worship here at Westside. I love my church. I love my church. I love the people here and excited to see new people come. At this church after 50 plus years is still preaching the gospel, thriving, still going forward is exciting. My favorite thing is just what God's done in my life through it and what he continues to do. The hope that I have that he's going to continue to do it for the rest of my life and throughout all eternity.
