Trial of Jesus III

In Matthew 26:57–68, Jesus stands before the Sanhedrin on trial, where His identity as the Son of Man is revealed with profound theological significance. Though falsely accused and humiliated, Jesus boldly affirms His divine identity, declaring that He is the Messiah, the Son of God, and the exalted Son of Man who will one day sit at the right hand of God and come on the clouds of heaven—fulfilling the prophecy of Daniel 7 and the promise of Psalm 110. This confession, rooted in Old Testament prophecy, underscores His deity, sovereignty, and future triumph over evil, even as He submits to suffering and death. The sermon emphasizes that Jesus' humiliation precedes His exaltation, and that the resurrection is the divine bridge from cross to crown. Ultimately, faith in Christ requires trusting His word and looking forward to the day when all will see Him in glory, seated in heavenly authority.
