NEW HEART, NEW SPIRIT _20 Ezekiel 24:1-27;11:19-20 The Coming Judgment Against Judah and Jerusalem: The End Result of Terrible. Sin.In two ways Ezekiel is to illustrate the judgment coming upon Jerusalem.
•Pot of water: this boiling pot of water is a symbol to show the great judgment that comes upon Jerusalem for her sins
•Passing of wife: God told Ezekiel his wife would die.
We see these setbacks as obstacles that push us further away from what we're trying to accomplish. Being able to identify these ''setbacks'' can help us to recognize where we are and where we're going. It has been said that if you don't know your history, you're doomed to repeat it and will never really know where you're going. We don't have to keep going backwards in life and besides, that's not what God wants us to do in the first place! Paul gives us an example about going forward that can be found in Philippians 3:14 which says, ''I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.''
