Introduction to the 1677/1789 2nd London Baptist Confession of Faith

After providing a brief history of how the 1689 Second London Baptist Confession came to be, pastor Butler covered the utility of this creed with six Ds:

1. Define the doctrine of the church
2. Defend the doctrine of the church
3. Discriminate against who should be in a particular church
4. Discipline those who depart from the teaching of Scripture
5. Distinguish doctrines that must be believed from matters of Christian liberty
6. Develop appreciation for the history of the church
