Armed — With Light and Life

"Wisdom is better than strength... The words of the wise though spoken quietly, should be heard, over the shouts of a ruler/leader of fools. Wisdom is better than weapons of war, but one sinner can do much damage." Ecclesiastes 9:16-18

Yes, it reminds me of Isaiah 33

"O Lord, be gracious to us... we have waited for You. Be our arm (our strength and help and stability and guidance) every morning, our salvation (our defense, deliverance and direction) also in the time of trouble" (Isaiah 33:2).

Yes Lord, extend Your grace to us?

Be our saving strength this morning — for today's journey and joy — and when troubles come, for we know they will come, our confidence rest in You. And, as sure as we will have to face more trouble with each passing day, we're believing You're more faithful and reliable than the reality of all our future problems. Problems come and go... but Your presence and promises are steadfast and sure.

Prayers like this are game changers. Think about it? A game changer — in the hands of a difference maker — becomes a day changer — with the favor and blessings of our Difference Maker.

Now, Isaiah goes on to teach us what he means when he pleaded with God to be their "arm every morning" or we can say their stability and strength. This wasn't some mystical request for God to be something for them without any accountability and responsibility on their part. In verse 6 Isaiah explains how the strong and stable arm of God is extended to us that He will become a part of our everyday life. He says: "Wisdom and knowl
