Glory in the Cross

Paul is closing his letter to the Galatians with emphasis on boasting in the cross, an emblem of suffering and shame.

The message of the cross is that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners. The effect of the cross is that the world is crucified to you. It is of no value to you. The cross does something the outward flesh can't. It makes a new creature.
