Genesis 35 - Moral Decline

The nobleness of Abraham degenerates into slavery in Jacob. His deceitfulness enslaves him to the dictates of his wives who commit their slaves to their cause of gaining power over Jacob who becomes the slave of the women. The children produced are faithful to their mothers but their only tie to their father is the wealth he is accumulating through deceit. Jacob is the endless, pointless toil of a lost individual until redeemed by God at His time.
