The divine refuge

Peace is a battle. David reminds himself of his threefold security: he has a rock, salvation, a defence. He declares the divine exclusivity: that God alone is his refuge in these ways, God in his covenant character. He delights in the comforting reality that, with such a God as his God, he shall not be greatly moved—the more he dwells upon this, the more secure he knows himself to be. Here, then, is peace for every child of God, even in the midst of trials and troubles.
