In Genesis 14:17–20 Abraham met Melchizedek Who was a type of Christ. He fulfilled the offices of priest and king which no man was allowed to possess, but God has established that Jesus is to be the High Priest forever- according to Hebrews, "So also Christ did not exalt himself to be made a high priest, but was appointed by him who said to him, “You are my Son, today I have begotten you”;6 as he says also in another place, “You are a priest forever, after the order of So also Christ did not exalt himself to be made a high priest, but was appointed by him who said to him, “You are my Son, today I have begotten you”; 6 as he says also in another place, “You are a priest forever, after the order of Melchizedek.”
