Don't Give Up!

13

One of the things we learn very early in life is that the 'squeaky wheel gets the oil", that it pays off to persevere, to keep pursuing, to never take "no' for an answer! Especially if one is dependent and desperate, one keeps on asking, seeking, knocking unto one gets satisfaction. This is true in life and in prayer! Dependent, desperate people persevere in prayer! Jesus in Luke 11 gives us some principled promises that those who continual ask, receive. Those who continually seek, will find, and those who continually knock, the door will be opened to them. He gives His word, guaranteed by Jesus Himself. And to illustrate, Jesus tells the story of the unjust judge and the helpless widow in Luke 18 to teach us that we ought always to pray and not give up. For as the righteous Judge, God will vindicate His chosen ones. As a compassionate heavenly Father, God delights to give good gifts to His children. But it all takes faith in our heavenly Father to answer according to His will and in His time.
