Daddy Time!

Children long for 'daddy' time-- to spend uninterrupted, intimate, quality time with one's earthly father. But for many, 'daddy time' with our earthly dads is not a possibility. However, we can all enjoy 'daddy time' with our Heavenly Father. Because we've been adopted into His family through faith in Jesus Christ, we now enjoy a Father-son relationship with God. And because God has sent forth the Spirit of His Son into our hearts, we can cry out, 'Abba, father.' We can call God the Father, our 'daddy'. But we need child-like faith-- faith that believes that God is approachable, is aware of our needs, is awesome in His resources, and that He answers for our own good. Our Father knows best! Such child-like faith produces confidence in approaching God with our requests, in knowing that God hears our requests and that He will answer and respond to our needs. Why? Because He loves us and longs to give good gifts to His children. The benefits of spending time with our heavenly 'dad' is calmness and contentment. We experience a peace that surpasses human understanding and an assurance that God will provide according to His will. But our child-like faith needs to be guarded lest it be replaced with Adult-like skepticism. The Spirit of God draws us back to child-like faith and puts with our hearts a longing, a thirst to spend time with our heavenly dad. We all need 'daddy time'!
