Speaking the Truth in Love

Speaking the truth can seem harsh. For that reason, Paul attaches truth and love. Even in the face of men of "sleight" and "craftiness" we are not to become war-like. He claims to be among believers, "as gentle as a nurse" (1 Thessalonians 2:7). He concludes the 16th verse of our text with the word "love". From beginning to end, we are to learn and practice the art of love.
