Let's see how this works this evening. These are the days of Elijah, declaring the word of the Lord. And these are the days of your servant, Moises, righteousness being restored. And these are the days of great trials, of famine and darkness and sword. Still we are the voice in the desert crying, prepare ye the way of the Lord. Behold He comes, riding on the clouds, shining like the sun at the trumpet's call. Lift your voice, it's the year of Jubilee, and out of Zion's hills salvation comes. And these are the days of Ezekiel, the dry bones becoming flesh. And these are the days of your servant David, rebuilding that temple of praise. And these are the days of the harvest. The fields are all white in your world. And we are the laborers in your vineyard, declaring the word of the Lord. Behold He comes, riding on the clouds, shining like the sun. At the trumpet's call, lift your voice. It's the year of Jubilee, and out of Zion's hill, salvation comes. Anybody need one of these? Everybody's got one? I have given this to you so you could have this to look at and have some background in that wonderful book of Daniel. And I'll just leave that with you to do with whatever you choose as you study the word of God. Let me give you some background because I'm going to, again tonight, preach from the 10th chapter of Daniel. We're gonna start with verse one again. It's very important, these three last chapters are so rich that I tremble just to think about the fact that I had the opportunity to see the curtain lifted up on the things that are revealed to Daniel. Remember that Israel, the 10 tribes, who had split off from the other two tribes, Judah and Benjamin, right after Solomon died, is they made a very serious mistake and they had a split in the nation of Israel. How sad, when God's people cannot stay together and have unity in Christ. The book of Revelation teaches that Jesus is the spirit of prophecy. And just before Jesus went back to heaven, they asked him, we want some details. We wanna know some things about, are you gonna bring the kingdom in right now? And Jesus said, it is not for you to know those things. They're in the hands of the father and he will make them come about. But he did call, he pulled the curtain back and especially in the book of Daniel. So we'll begin with verse one of chapter 10. Now, if you came here for something besides the word of God, then you're not going to leave here except saying I've wasted my time. But if you will allow, and we're gonna have one silent moment, to ask for you to have the opportunity, if you haven't already, to ask the Holy Spirit to come and fill you that the word of God might have great effect upon you today and for the rest of your life and for all eternity. In the name that is above every name, the name of Jesus, we ask the Holy Spirit to take total control of us as we tremble, as we study the living word of God. Thank you, Jesus. Verse one. He says it in the third year of Cyrus, king of Persia. Remember that when the children of Israel were visited by Nebuchadnezzar, who was the king of Babylon, that they took a number of the cream of the crop people into captivity from the land of Israel and took them to Babylon. Daniel was one of those who was taken as a teenager, and he became one of the great leaders, even in Babylon, as God filled him with wisdom. And God, thank you, God. Could I use just a personal example to let you know how God deals, and sometimes we think it's very, very cruel and very, very much a mystery. When we found out that my wife was expecting Melody, our first child, I was in the United States Air Force, and I was told, you have to go overseas. You have to go. And I was fortunate enough to be working in headquarters, and they gave me three possibilities of where I could go and spend time overseas or out of the states. Alaska, that was something that was in the 1950s. Alaska, Japan, or Libya, North Africa. And I always wanted to go to the Holy Land. I never thought I'd ever have a chance to go. However, I've been there 21 times. But I wanted to get as close as I could. So I chose Libya. That meant I had to leave my wife as she would be by herself in Del Rio, Texas, and have our child Six months later, she came on over there and brought Melody. But one of the saddest moments of my life was when, if that's God, I want to talk to him. I stood at the train station in Del Rio and got on the train and it was as if I died. But it was just one of the greatest times of my life. I went to New Jersey, Fort Kilmer, New Jersey, Camp Kilmer. And from there I went to New York City and got on a ship And I was still in a state of absolutely almost out of my mind. But that Sunday, before I went overseas and got on the General Callan, I took a group of airmen to church in Trenton. I mean, I must say the preacher, he didn't preach a lick. But there was a lady who sang a special, and she sang, for the first time I ever heard the song, I Walk Today Where Jesus Walked. And that really touched those airmen, and one of the airmen While I'm feeling sorry for myself because of having to leave my wife and go overseas and leave her behind, but there was a young man with us and we were on Fifth Avenue in New York City and he had a heart attack. We got a hold of the paramedics, we'd call them today. and we went on a boat across to Governor's Island, and I left him there in the hospital to go back to Camp Kilmer. I don't know whether he lived or died, but I know that he accepted Christ. After I got on the ship and I was seasick before we ever got out of the port, ship shaking, And there's a PA system announcement came, the chaplain needs somebody to come and assist him. I made a beeline for the chaplain's office on the ship, vomited in his wastebasket. But I got to be in the ship library all the way across the ocean when we stopped in Casablanca. We stopped at Penza, we stopped at different places in Italy. I got to Libya, got the best job you could ever have in an office. I was a finance man. That meant everybody had to come to you sometime or other. Even the old man. By the way, I had commanders, three different commanders and none of them. could manage their money. But I had politicked. I was a member of the United Protestant Fellowship on the base and that meant that I knew the head man of the finance office because he came to the United Protestant Fellowship. And so when he would go on TDY, he did his money that day. I'd hand carry it over and bring his money back. And on it went, I became the president of the United Protestant Fellowship. We visited a mission downtown in the old city of Tripoli. This was before Gaddafi. Had a wonderful time with them. So what I'm saying is God knows what he's doing. God is leading. Get with it. So we start now with Daniel in the third chapter. He says a thing was revealed unto Daniel whose name by the Persian name was Belteshazzar. Remember that Daniel took that name. Now they meant the people at Babylon who gave him that name. meant to brainwash him by giving him a name that had to do with their fake false God. But Daniel turned the tables on him and used his position to even win Nebuchadnezzar, I believe Nebuchadnezzar was one to the Lord. Because he, but God had to make him go out and eat grass like an ox. made him crazy. And sometimes you have, people have to get kind of crazy before they get smart enough to accept Jesus. So, and he, Daniel, and the thing was true, but the time appointed was long. In other words, whatever would happen during the time revealed in chapter 10, 11, and 12 would be spread over a long period of time. Part of what we'll study is history. It's already happened, but part of it is yet to happen. And God revealed all these things to Daniel and they actually happened in history except for the things that are yet still to happen. The time appointed was long and he understood the things and had understanding of the vision. In those days, now Daniel is about 90 years old now, Babylon has been conquered by Persia and Persia is now ruling the world. In those days, I, Daniel, was mourning three full weeks. And I told you in a previous message on this, that he was mourning because the people who went into captivity and those Jews who were born in captivity were now given permission to go back home to Israel. but only a few of them were going back. And this broke Daniel's heart. He is in a state of mourning because they would not go home. They had allowed themselves to be, come apart of that which Israel was never meant to be. And he was in mourning for three weeks. It says he ate no pleasant bread, three weeks. Neither came any flesh or wine in his mouth. Neither did I anoint myself. He didn't take a bath. For all those times, he was in a state of prayer until three weeks were fulfilled. And in the four and 20th day of the first month, as I was by the side of the great river, which held high the Kell, and this really is, we know it as the Tigris River. I lifted up my eyes and looked and behold a certain man. Now this word man here comes from the Hebrew word Adam. But we know that the man who comes to him here is the second Adam. You see, Jesus had to become the Adam that sinned Now, he didn't sin, but he had our sins on him. Now, this is the person that appears to Daniel after his prayer. It is the pre-incarnate Christ, the Christ before he died on the cross. And I lifted up my eyes and looked and behold, a certain man, the second Adam, clothed in linen, that means righteousness, whose loins were girded with fine gold of Euphrates, and his voice, his body also was like gold. and more jewelry. If you actually study the first chapter of Revelation, you'll see that Jesus is described the same way in the first chapter of Revelation as Daniel is describing him here. And his face as the appearance of lightning, and his eyes as the lamp of fire, and his arms and his feet blackened to the color of polished brass. And the voice of his word were like the voice of a multitude. And I, Daniel, alone saw the vision. If you'll study your Bible, you'll find that most of those that God appeared to in a special way were alone. The greatest thing that can happen has happened to me. was the times when I was alone, when I had no one but God. Find him, get alone with him. He is alone with Almighty God and Jesus comes to him. And I, Daniel, alone saw the vision. For the men that were with me saw not the vision, but they had a great quaking among themselves, and they fled to hide themselves. Therefore, I was left alone, and I saw this great vision, and there remained no strength in me." He was totally without any energy. When you meet Almighty God, when you meet Jesus, when you have a real filling of the Holy Spirit, it's gonna make you dead. The Apostle Paul said of himself, I die daily. Do you wanna have an experience with Jesus? then you see yourself as dead and him alive in you. There may remain no more strength in me in Daniel. And for my coming is his good looks and healthy looks was turned into corruption and I retain no strength. You say Daniel had corruption? I have studied the entire book, and I can't find one specific sin that Daniel was accused of by Almighty God, and yet he had corruption. Now listen carefully to what I'm going to say. He has been in Babylon, and he is in the government of Babylon. He has been in the government of Persia. And no matter how you may try not to, what your everyday life, how you are brought into all kinds of situations and corrupt situations, and you will be. We live in a world that is just dirty and filthy, and it can affect you. And although this man lived close to God, corruption had entered into his fleshly being. And now God is reaching down and wiping him clean as he's in the very presence of the second Adam, Jesus. Yet I heard the voice of his words. And when I heard the voice of his words, then was I in a deep sleep on my face, he was dead. I was on my face, and my face toward the ground, and behold a hand touched me, which set upon, and he set me upon my knees, and upon the palms of my hands. And this angel, I believe, this was Gabriel, I believe, and he said to me, oh Daniel, a man-ish, that's the Hebrew name for just the common thing that separates us from animals, is our ishiousness. And Daniel, oh Daniel, a man greatly beloved, Understand the words that I speak unto thee, and stand upon and stand upright, for unto thee am I now sent. And when he had spoken this word to me, I stood trembling. Let's stop for a moment. Each one of you are loved as much as Daniel was loved. And the greatest joy you will ever have is to stop and meditate. Meditate on the fact that you are loved by Almighty God. And the greatest thing that'll ever happen to you is when you allow yourself to be filled with the love of God for other people. What I'm going to say now, you don't have to accept, but I believe the greatest sin of the church today is not what people are accused of, although they're wrong, but it's not allowing yourself to be aware of how much you are loved. I know! that all have sinned and come short of the glory of God. And that's why you're not gonna have me going around condemning this, that, and the other. I'll let God take care of that. And you better. Because as you judge others, God will judge you. Beware. There is therefore now no condemnation to them who are in Christ Jesus. Then said he unto me, verse 12, fear not. It's time now for you to get past being afraid, Daniel. I take that upon me. You don't have to carry it. For from the first day, the first day that thou didst set thine heart to understand and to chasten thyself, I wanted to look up that Hebrew word translated chason. And it means that you allow yourself to be cleansed in the presence of God on a daily basis. I need to be cleansed. I have walked on this earth among the filth and some of it has touched me and I need that cleansing. That's why that if you were visiting people in New Testament times, if you'd go into a house and be a guest, they'd wash your feet because you had picked up some dirt and now they were giving you a cleansing. And when you come into God's house, when you leave here, you should have some dirt washed off that God owned you while you were out in this old world. And he chastened thyself before God, and thy words were heard, and I am come for thy words. because you spoke to me and allowed me to cleanse you for that which has gotten a hold of you while you walk through this filthy world you have to live in. And then he pulls back the curtain and shows us about the unseen world around us. Shh, listen carefully. But the prince of the kingdom of Persia This is Satan's demonic high official in the army of Satan. And he is trying to stop Persia from being touched by Daniel and by Almighty God. And this angel was trying to get to Daniel and the Prince of Persia, the demonic being that this world is full of demonic beings that rules the governments of this world and gets a hold of the leaders in the office. But the prince of Persia withstood me 21 days, stopped him from getting to Daniel. But Lomachiel, another angel, one of the chief princes, now this would be the good unseen in this world. You have angels that are evil, and you have angels who are godly, and there's a war going on. in the invisible world, and it's happening right now. But I know who's gonna win. And you know who's going to win. But he helped me, and I remain there with the kings of Persia. Now I am come to make you to understand, Daniel, what shall befall thy people. That would be Israel. Oh, Israel's in great danger. They're in great danger. There are those who hate them. And anti-Semitism, the Semitic hatred is growing every day. And in this country, I wonder if our government is really behind Israel and is going to back Israel. Are we as a nation going to let them be hit? I thank God, for example, for Harry S. Truman. You see, I was just, he was the first president that I really ever got acquainted with in history, and he had his faults. The day came when the United Nations voted to give Israel a little piece of they were supposed to have all of. And I don't know whether you know it or not, but Truman and one of his Jewish brothers, I don't mean brother in the flesh, but one of his Jewish brothers owned a store in Seminole, a clothing store. They went bankrupt. Of course, he went back to Independence. I've been to his library there at Independence. You ever have to have a chance, visit it. The Reagan, the Kennedy, the Bush, their places, libraries are very, very much filled with great beauty, but Truman's library is very simple. And I admired him, but this man who had been his buddy, his friend, his partner in business, a Jew, wanted to make sure that the United States recognized the new country of Israel that came into being in 1947. And our State Department did not want us to recognize Israel. They were against it. Brother Phil and I were on an airplane coming back from Israel one time, and I had one of the State Department high-ups sit by me, or I sat by him. And he asked me, where had I been? Because we were coming from Paris. He had gotten on in Paris. Where have you been? I've been to Israel." And he let me know right away the State Department of this country did not like Israel. But this old Jew called Harry Truman and said, I want to come see you, Harry. He called him by his name. I want to come see you. And Harry Truman said, if you will not mention Israel and thus recognize them the state of Israel, you can come see me. And the old Jew came in and he just broke down and started crying like a baby. And Truman recognized the state of Israel. Thank God. And I'm come to make thee understand what shall befall thy people, the Jews, in the latter days. For yet the vision is for many days. And when he had spoken such words to me, I set my face, this is Daniel, toward the ground and I became dumb. I couldn't speak. And behold, one like the similitude of the sons of men touched my lips. Lord, would you send your spirit into this assembly of God, and would you with your Holy Spirit touch every one of our lips, so we'd be able to speak things that will glorify our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Would you do that, Lord? Thank you. And behold, one like this, similar to the sons of men, touched my lips. And when I opened my mouth and spake and said unto him that stood before me, O Yahweh, the Hebrew name for Jehovah, O Yahweh, You'll speak good things when your lips have been touched by the Holy Spirit. By the vision my sorrows are turned unto me, and I have retained no strength. For how can the servant of this my Lord, Yahweh, talk with this my Lord? For as for me, straightway there remain no strength in me, neither is there breath left in me." All of his human spirit went away so he could be filled with this Holy Spirit. And then there came again and touched me one like the appearance of a man, like the appearance of Adam, the second Adam though, not the first. And Jesus became the second Adam. And he strengthened me and said, oh man, ish, greatly beloved, fear not. Peace be unto thee, be strong, yea, be strong. And when he had spoken unto me, I was strengthened. And I said, let my Lord speak for thou has strengthened me. And then he said, knowest thou therefore I am come unto thee and now I will return to fight. with the prince of Persia. I'm going back into the unseen spirit world and I'm going to battle for you and for Israel against the demons of hell that want to rule. And when I'm gone forth, lo, the prince of Greece shall come. That would be the demon that ruled the country of Greece or the empire of Greece back at that time. But I will show thee that which is noted in the scripture of truth. And there is none that holdeth with me in these things but Michael our prince. There is a war going on that you can't see. All you want to do is to be sure you've accepted Jesus as your personal and eternal savior. And then know that there are angels of God fighting battles for you because you have put your trust in God. I pray today that this has been a blessing to you. I feel so inadequate when I preach on these great truths, but the Holy Spirit can come and make the difference in what I, if there's something I have not done, I pray the Holy Spirit will come and fill that vacuum and you'll leave here full of that which is of God. as we stand to have an invitation, let God have his way in the invitation.
