Confession Under Chastening

This part of Daniel's prayer instructs us how to confess our sins when we lie under God's chastening hand. Three things find free expression by Daniel in these verses: 1) An acknowledgment of the righteousness of God in our being afflicted; 2) An Acknowledgment of God's direct hand in our misery; and 3) A heartfelt sense and acknowledgment of God's great mercy. This message will be a help to Christians in confessing their sins especially when they are disciplined by God and may lead to a deeper sense of God's love and one's love to Christ.
