Ambassador in Chains
Series Ephesians
In Ephesians 6:20, Paul refers to himself as an ambassador in chains. Throughout history, ambassadors were treated with dignity and respect. They were also granted safe passage regardless of how unwelcome the message he was sent to deliver. To imprison or kill an ambassador was an act of war for it was as if the act was carried out upon the represented king. In 2 Cor 5, Paul refers to all Christians as ambassadors. We represent Christ our King and we have the Gospel message He has entrusted to us.
