Living in the Vine

Jesus' metaphor in John 15 reminds us that we need his life, his power, in us if we are going to be fruitful. Our faith union with the risen Christ is what brings this fruit-bearing life to those who abide in him. But we also must recognize that we will be subjected to pruning from time to time so that we might bear even more fruit.
