The Great Day of the LORD

As we look at the end of Malachi, we read of a final day that is coming swiftly. Everyone needs to be looking out for this day. The last day when time will stop and everyone will be held accountable before God. It is a day of separation between the righteous and the wicked. This will be a day of darkness, dread, and gloom for some. For the faithful it will be a day of indescribable joy. In this day, God’s love spoken in truth will be fully realized. God’s glory and honor will be set on full display. The Lamb of God will be exalted (Rev. 5). True spiritual leaders will shine brighter than the stars. The temporary marriage covenant will fade as the marriage of the Lamb and His Bride is celebrated. God’s justice will be executed thoroughly. Every dollar spent on sending the truth of the gospel will be cashed in for eternal riches. Everyone will have a biblical worldview. Reality will be fully realized before the Lamb of God and the One who sits upon the throne. Those who served the Lord in this life will be able to say it was all worth it. Those who failed to worship God, seek forgiveness and reconciliation through the Lamb slain before the foundation of the world, and lived this life only for them will be sobered up by eternal judgement. These are hard truths to realize. We are racing toward a day where the righteous will entered the eternal joys of the Lord and the proud and wicked will face eternal punishment from God.
