Doing What's At Hand

Romans 16:1 is regarded as a proof text by those who promote egalitarianism with respect to holding office in the church. This sermon seeks to show why this cannot be and why egalitarianism misses the real challenge that comes to us from the life of Phoebe: The challenge of faithfulness.

It shows that faithfulness is not just presuming that we will meet the challenge in the 'big' things if called upon, but that true faithfulness is lived out daily in those seemingly small details of everyday life, that we may then be prepared in the day for whatever the Lord sovereignly brings.
