Be Not Unbelieving

Sermon Point: Don't seek extraordinary experiences; seek God in His Word.

1. Jesus appears to His disciples the evening of resurrection day and they believe (John 20:19-20).
2. He then commissions gospel preaching and symbolically equips the disciples (John 20:21-23).
3. The disciples dutifully report the Good News to Thomas but he will not believe without seeing (John 20:24-25).
4. A Week later, Jesus again appears to the disciples and Thomas now believes after seeing (John 20:26-28).
5. But Jesus pronounces a blessing upon those who believe the Gospel message and do not physically see the risen Christ (John 20:29).
6. Yes, you who read and hear the Gospel and now believe without seeing have eternal life (John 20:30-31).
