"Losing Our Future by Destroying Our Past"

Repeatedly throughout Scripture we see the command to remember and the admonition to not forget. Often we see this with the Children of Israel who had been in bondage in Egypt and God miraculously delivered them. They saw the plagues poured out on Egypt while they were protected. They saw God part the Red Sea as they crossed on dry ground. They saw God provide food for them. But they grumbled, they complained, and they forgot.

As a matter of fact, they had a very short memory when Moses went up Mount Sinai to receive the law. In less than 40 days time, despite seeing all of the miracles of God, it's recorded in Exodus 32:1, "And when the people saw that Moses delayed to come down out of the mount, the people gathered themselves together unto Aaron, and said unto him, Up, make us gods, which shall go before us; for as for this Moses, the man that brought us up out of the land of Egypt, we wot not what is become of him." Look how fast they were to destroy their past and what God had done for them.

Also worth mentioning, in the New Testament as Paul penned his last book, II Timothy, he warned Timothy of the perilous times in the last days.

Much like the Israelites, America is forgetting its past and therefore destroying its future.
