"Come and Drink of Jesus"

Tabernacles; the favorite feast: Tents, water, and fire!

I. The Context of the Revelation and Invitation
On the last day of the feast, the great day, Jesus stood up and cried out, "If anyone thirsts, let him come to me and drink."

Behold, I will stand before you there on the rock at Horeb, and you shall strike the rock, and water shall come out of it, and the people will drink.—Exo. 17:6

II. The Content of the Revelation and Invitation
you shall strike the rock –Exo. 17:6 … all drank the same spiritual drink. For they drank from the spiritual Rock that followed them, and the Rock was Christ.—1 Cor. 10:4

Surely he has borne our griefs and carried our sorrows; yet we esteemed him stricken, smitten [STRUCK] by God, and afflicted. —Isa. 53:4

Awake, O sword, against my shepherd, against the man who stands next to me," declares the Lord of hosts. "Strike the shepherd …"--Zech. 13:7

My strength is dried up like a potsherd; My tongue sticks to my jaws, You lay Me in the dust of death.—Psa. 22:15

I am weary with my crying out; my throat is parched …for My thirst they gave me sour wine to drink.—Psa. 69:3, 21

And let the one who is thirsty come; let the one who desires take the water of life without price.—Rev. 22:17b
