Responding to Jesus: The Reigning King

Where is Jesus now? What is He doing? How does that enlighten and Jesus' ascension to heaven forty days after His resurrection is an important reality that shapes His followers' outlook and priorities. Jesus ascension was the time anticipated by into His glory. From heaven's throne, Christ rules over all things for the Father's glory and for the benefit of His bride, the church. Jesus, God clothed in humanity, is preparing a place for His people and interceding for all who come to the Father through Him. His ascension is the culmination of His earthly work for us, showing us that He alone is the pathway to God and His heaven. In the same way that Jesus ascended, bodily, He will one day return to rule and live with His people – forever.
