The Name of Our Redeemer

When Moses was taken to glory by the Lord, and the Lord, Himself buried his body Israel was not left without leadership, but Joshua was chosen by the Lord and appointed by Moses to lead Israel from the wilderness, across the Jordan and into the Promise Land. Joshua means "YHWH is salvation" because Joshua would save the people of Israel from languishing in the wilderness, that they might cross over, conquer the pagan tribes and take control of the land which the Lord promised to Israel. In the same way, the angel appeared to Joseph and called him to name the boy who would be born to Mary, Jesus or Jehusa, it is because HE would save or deliver His people from their sins. This evening we focus upon the unique mission of Jesus Christ and why it is He and no other is worthy of your trust and hope for salvation.
