Book of Psalms, chapter 96. Book
of Psalms, chapter 96, as we open up missions month and we
prepare to get ready for what this month is all about, Psalm
96. Did wanna say all of you that are getting baptized at
about five after 12, you can make your way towards the back.
You can just get up in the service and just make your way towards
the back. If you need to get changed, you can go ahead and do that. And
just meet me back there and then I will be back there after the
service. and we'll see you here in just a little bit. But about
five after 12, you can just get up and make your way towards
the back. Psalm chapter 96, we go through just a few verses
here this morning and we think about missions and there's, We're
in essence all missionaries to a sense, to a degree, that God's
called us all to be a light and to be a bearer of truth. So to
that degree, we're all in essence really missionaries in that kind
of way. We're all to be the salt and
the light of the world, just as the Lord Jesus called us to
be. We're to be a bearer of truth, to be a light in a world of darkness,
all these types of things. And so when we think about missions,
we think about missionaries that God calls specific people to
go to certain places, to a certain people group. Sometimes it's
here in the state, sometimes it's overseas in different places
where there are folks there that need to hear the gospel. And
what a blessing it is to be able to support missionaries through
our Faith Promise Program that we have here at Gospelite. The
Lord is really blessed. We have 20 missionaries that
we support. hundred dollars a month and God's
really blessed us to be able to do that and so you just pray
about what God will lay on your heart through our faith promise
that we'll go over mostly next week about faith promise and
what it is that maybe you can give to that to support missionaries
whether here in or abroad. Now, when I put together this
acrostic, thinking about what a missionary is and using every
letter, and of course a missionary is a whole lot more than what
I've got down here, but just a couple of things for us just
to consider and think about when we think about what a missionary
is. And as we're beginning with the letter M, a missionary, of
course the very first word there would be mission. A missionary
is on a mission. The Bible says, go you into all
the world. And so we think about the mission that they're on,
what it is that God's called them to do, the place that God
has called them to go, to go out into the world. We think
about their influence, the influence that they have on the places
that they go and the people that they preach to. And sometimes,
just as we've had missionaries that's come in here and presented
their ministry, even from India. Well, we've had folks that said,
you know what, my missionary came over, to where we were and
I'm a third or fourth generation Christian because somebody, because
a missionary came and preached. My grandfather got saved and
my great-grandfather got saved. Then I got saved and then my
dad got saved and so forth and so on. And so they would come
in and they would present their ministry to their country and
say, I just want you to know that there was a missionary that
came to our country. And I'm a third or fourth generation
Christian because of that. And so the influence and the
impact that missions has on the world, but also, I believe, here
in the States. Not only missions and influence,
we also see the next letter S as servants, because that's what
they are. They are servants to the Lord. They are servants to
the flock that God has called them to feed on the field that
God has called them to. They are servants in the ministries.
They are servants to our church. They're sacrificial. They make
a lot of sacrifices, whether it's family, time, friends, you
know, all these different things, worldly pleasures and things
like that, that they sacrifice for the cause of Christ. Many
different sacrifices that they make. I see them, the next letter
I is an investment in God's kingdom. We invest in missionaries because
we understand that God's called them to where they're going and
the investment that we make in them to help them and take care
of them, to build churches and spread the gospel is an investment
in eternal souls, laying up treasures in heaven. It is a tremendous
investment for the church to have. Also, the letter O there,
we see ordained. They're ordained by God and called
by God. Listen, you don't wanna be a missionary unless God has
ordained you and called you to that, nor would it be any other
area of service. Whenever you do for God, you
wanna make sure that that is definitely what God has called
me to do in there. I think they're necessary. They're
necessary to the ministry, they're necessary to the church. Listen,
if God didn't think they were necessary, he wouldn't have called them,
amen? And so they are necessary, and I think they are very vital
to the ministry and to the world. They are affectionate, letter
A there. They're affectionate to the people in the place where
God's called them to. They love where it is that they're
going. They wanna go there because God
has shifted their heart to those people and that is the desire
that they have. They are affectionate and have
a love for the place that they're going. Are there? They are representatives. Representatives of who? They
are representatives of God, but they are also representatives
of our church and other churches of like faith that support them.
And then the letter Y there, they're a yielded people. They
yield to the guidance and direction of God. They yield to ever-changing
things that happen on the mission field. All different types of
things that happen. that come up that are very unexpected.
And so they have to be, they have to live a very yielded life
for things that are taking place all around them. We are very
fortunate here, most of us here, to be able to have the ability
to have all that we need here at our disposal. But there are
lots of missionaries that are out there on the field that don't
have the technologies that we may have or the comforts of being
in a sitting in the church building like this, when we get hot, we
cut the fans on, or whenever we want a comfortable place to
sit that we got these Baptist pews that we can sit on. Listen,
not all of these folks out there have things like that. And so
we're very fortunate, very blessed, may I should say, to be able
to have these things. And so they have to yield a lot
over to God and yield a lot to the different things that they're
going through and facing in life. Now, we understand the missions
is something that is commanded by God. Mark 16, verse 15, the
Bible says, he said to them, go you into all the world and
preach the gospel to every creature. That means to every single person,
that means God, listen, because God's not willing that any should
perish but that all should come to repentance, he has a desire for
the gospel to go to everyone, to every place, to all nations. Matthew 24, verse 14 says, and
the gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world
for a witness unto all nations and then shall the end come.
First Chronicles 16, 24 says this, declare his glory among
the heathen and his marvelous works among all the nations.
Then lastly, Acts 13, 47 that says, for so hath the Lord commanded
us, saying, I have set thee to be a light of the Gentiles, that
thou shouldest be for salvation unto the ends of the earth. And
so we can see in just a few short verses and things like this how
vital missions is, how important they are, and it's a whole lot
more than what I've just mentioned here in just a few short moments
thus far this morning. But as we get into missions and
we think about Missionary Month and the importance of giving
to missions, or even more than, hey, listen, God may be knocking
on the door of your heart, to be a missionary yourself. Maybe
it is that God's speaking to you about such a thing and you're
wondering, maybe you're praying, God, is this what you desire
for me to do? God, where would you have me
to go? And so missions is very vital. It is very important to the ministry
of the Lord. Listen, the greatest ministry,
the greatest, I'm sorry, the greatest missionary that there
ever has been is, and still is, is the Lord Jesus Christ. He
left his home from heaven, and he came down here to this earth,
and became the greatest missionary, and showed us, and of course
died for us on the cross, and showed us the way to heaven.
In essence, that is in essence what a missionary does. They
leave their place where they are, and they go out into a lost
and dark dying world, and they shed the light of the gospel,
they shed the light of truth to people that are in bondage,
in darkness, and in sin. And they build churches, and
they preach the gospel, and they do all they can to build the
kingdom. And as a church, Gospelite Baptist here, as a church, we
have the privilege and the honor to be able to celebrate in their
victories, to be able to pray for their needs, but also to
be able to support them in all that they come across and may
need in their ministry. And so I'm very blessed here
at Gospelite that we have folks that are mission-minded, mission-hearted,
and have a desire to support missionaries and their families,
a desire to see the kingdom of God grow and to see it be built,
to see souls get saved. Now as we look in Psalm chapter
96, I wanna run through just a few things here as I was thinking
about missions, and let's begin there in verse one, and we'll
bring out our truths here this morning. The Bible says, sing
unto the Lord a new song. Sing unto the Lord, all the earth. What I want us to see there in
verse one as we think about missions, as we think about the magnitude
of missions. Notice the Bible says, sing unto
the Lord a new song, sing unto the Lord all the earth. God's
desire is for all of the earth to do what? Not just to sing
a song, but to sing a new song. not just to sing a song, because
listen, there's lots of songs out here. I mean, there's lots
of songs that come on the radio that the world has. Listen, there's
all types of songs that the world plays. There's all types of songs
that the devil plays. Listen, there's a lot of different
music and a lot of different songs out there, but there's
one in particular. The Bible says here in the text, there
in verse one, he says, sing unto the Lord a new song, sing unto
the Lord all the earth. And I said, the new song, well,
what is that new song? I mean, if God wants us to sing
a new song, then what is that new song? Well, let me tell you
what it is. Look at Psalm, I mean, you don't have to necessarily
turn there, but it's Psalm chapter 14, verses two and three, listen
to this. The Bible says, he brought me up also out of a horrible
pit, out of the miry clay, and set my feet upon a rock, and
established my goings, listen to this now, and he put a new
song in my mouth. And what would that song be?
What would that new song be? The song that I'm saved, the
song that my sins are forgiven, the song that I'm on my way to
heaven, the song that I am reborn, I'm a new creature in Christ,
that all things have passed away and that all things have become
new. What a tremendous song to sing. a song of salvation, a
song of praise, a song of glory. And so there is a new song to
sing. And the Bible tells us here in
Psalm 96 that he desires a new song to be sung. It says, sing
unto the Lord a new song, sing unto the Lord all the earth.
Well, how is all the earth? I'm gonna sing this new song,
unless missionaries go out there, unless we go out there, to teach
them what this new song is. To show them that they can have
a new life in Christ, that God can, in essence, the Lord Jesus,
who was sent by his Father in heaven, who died on that old
rugged cross to free us and save us from our sin, that we can
have a new life in him, that he can pull us up out of that
miry clay, that he can set my feet upon a rock, and then when
that happens, he can establish my goings and put a new song
in my mouth. You see, we understand that.
Once all this begins to take place, once we are raised up
out of this horrible pit of sin, and then we raise up out of this
Maori clay, that he sets our feet upon a rock, and then he
establishes our goings, and it's when he establishes our goings
that we do what? That's when we begin to sing
the new song, the new song of salvation, the new song of praise,
the new song of honor and glory that is due only to the Lord
Jesus Christ, who can save to the uttermost. And so the Bible
tells us there in verse one to sing unto the Lord a new song. singing unto the Lord all of
the earth. It's a God's desire that all
of the earth be able to sing the new song of salvation, that
truth has come into the world, that the Lord Jesus has come,
that light is here, and we don't have to keep living in sin. We
don't have to keep living in the bondage of that sin, but
that we can be free, and he that is free is free indeed. And there
is a new song that comes into our mouth. You know what it's
like. to maybe some of you here today, maybe you've battled maybe
certain things in your life, maybe it's been bad habits or
maybe a besetting sin or whatever it could be and you got victory
over it, you remember how it made you feel and just a blessing
that it was to you and you're like, man, you're just praising
God, God, I got victory over this, thank you so much for giving
me the strength that I need. God, thank you for giving me
that peace and thank you for giving me that comfort that I
needed in my soul. And so a new song that it brought
to your life, how many of you have ever been maybe scared or
in fear, or something was gonna take place, you were worried
about something, and then God came through, and what did it
do? Man, you had a flow of peace and comfort in your life, and
you was able to sing a new song, where it was singing a song of
fear, or a song of anxiety, or a song of worry, but now we sing
a new song unto the Lord. And I think the Bible shows us
here that his desire for God's people is to sing a new song.
But not just for us, but he desires for the whole earth to be able
to sing that new song. And that's one of the reasons
why missions is so vital. That's why it's so necessary,
and that's why it's so important. Because there's a lot of people
just like you and me, with moms and dads and grandma and grandpas,
aunts and uncles, kids, nieces, nephews, there's a lot of people
just like us, with people that they love and care about, just
like you do that are scattered all across this world that don't
know Christ. Listen, there are people right
outside that door right there that don't know Jesus. Right
outside that door. Listen, I don't have to travel
all the way to India. Listen, I can just walk right
outside that door right there, and there's people driving up
and down the road, 20-some thousand or 30-some thousand, from what
I hear a day, pass by this church. And I would dare say most of
them Don't know Jesus. And the reason why I say that
is, is because the Bible even tells us that broad is the way
that leads to destruction, many be that go in there at, but narrow
is the way that leads to life, and few there be that find it.
So our Bible teaches us, this ain't Pastor Brian, this is Bible,
that there's more people dying today and going to hell than
they are getting saved and going to heaven. And that is one of the
reasons why missions is so impossible. That is, I'm sorry, that is one
of the reasons why missions is something that we need to make
sure is possible. That is one of the reasons why we need to
make sure that missions is something that we always keep on the forefront
of our hearts and minds, that we never set it off to the side
as something that's not necessary or not viable to our church,
because it is. The Bible teaches us that he
that winneth souls is wise. And listen, that's not just here
at Gospel Like Baptists. That's for folks that are out
on the mission field and those that are building churches and
doing all they can to preach the gospel out in the woods and
foreign lands and under trees and in huts and in other different
places. all around the world. Listen, there is people, there
is people around the world, I would dare say even right now, that
they're not sittin' in a church building per se, but they're
sittin' in a, but they have a, they're sittin' in a, almost
like a garage type building, or like a pavilion. Some of them
are just sittin' outside and somebody's just got the Bible
open and just talkin' to them. Some of them don't even have
the whole Bible. They just got pieces of it. Listen, we are
fortunate here today. We are blessed here this morning
that we have the scriptures of God It's gold in our hand. And
the Bible tells us there in verse one, singing to the Lord a new
song. I tell you what, we got a lot
to sing about because when you're saved and you've been delivered
from sin and your name has been written down in the Lamb's book
of life and when you die, you know you're on your way to heaven,
when you know the Holy Spirit of God lives and dwells inside
of you so that you can be empowered by the Holy Spirit of God, that
you can do all things through Christ, but that greater is he
that is in you than he that is in this world. When we know as
God's people that we have they had in their lives. I tell you
what, what a song that we can sing. We have a different song
in the way, we have a different song than the world does. And
the Bible says he desires this song to go to all the earth. The Bible says in Psalm 40 verse
three, put a new song in my mouth. even praise unto our God, a song
of praise. Many shall see it and fear and
shall trust in the Lord. And so the song that we sing
of praise, the songs that we sing of Calvary, the songs that
we sing about the blood of Jesus, the Bible says that many shall
hear and they shall fear. And the Bible tells us in that
verse that they shall trust in the Lord because of the song
that we sing. And it's a new song, it's a different
song. We go to verse two, the Bible
says, not only do we see the magnitude of missions, it is
to go to all the earth, we also see the manifestation of missions.
Notice verse two, the Bible says, sing unto the Lord, bless his
name, show forth his salvation from day to day. Notice there
in verse two, it says, sing unto the Lord, bless his name. So
what is the main topic of what we're gonna talk about? What
is the main topic of our life gonna be? It's gonna be about
his name. bless his name. And then the Bible says, show
forth his salvation. Verse three says, declare his
glory. So if we're gonna declare his
glory there in verse three, well that means we're gonna publish
it, we're gonna proclaim it. But there in verse two, he says, sing unto
the Lord, bless his name, show forth his salvation. Now in showing
forth this salvation, would that be to preach the gospel? Would
that be? Yeah, I think that would be.
But I think it would also be a little bit more than that.
I think not only would it be about preaching the gospel, I think it would
be about we're manifesting the gospel in our life. Letting the
light of Christ shine in our life. And listen, I think that
is one of the things that the world is missing today. Listen,
and I would dare say, and Christians, we can be guilty that the world
hears a lot what we say, but they don't see a lot what we
say. Let's just be honest. We talked about some of that
this morning in Sunday school. The world hears a lot what we say,
but they don't see a lot of what we say. The Bible says there
in verse two, sing unto the Lord, bless his name, show forth his
salvation. From how long? Just today? No, it says from day to day.
So that's something that is successive. That is something that happens
every single day, from day to day. Not only do we see the magnitude
of missions that is through all the earth, but we see the manifestation
of missions, that it is something that is manifested in our life.
Because I believe and trust in Christ, because I've put my faith
and trust in Him, then I will manifest His power. The fruit
of the Spirit will be demonstrated in my life. As was talking in
Sunday school this morning, listen, the reason why I produce good
works in my life is because I'm saved. Amen? I don't do good
works to get saved. I produce good works because
I am saved. And good works don't get us to
heaven. Amen. All of my works are as
filthy rags before God. And so what we got to understand
here this morning is that not only do we see the magnitude
of salvation that it goes to all the earth, but we see that
we gotta, man, we gotta show it forth. We gotta manifest this. We gotta manifest God. Manifest
that we are saved. Manifest that he lives in us. Manifest that light. Let the
Lord Jesus Christ be manifested in our life. Show forth his salvation. from day to day, the manifestation
of missions. And missions, part of the manifestation
of missions is showing the world that because we understand the
great commission, that because we understand that there are
people out there that are dying and they're dying lost without
the Lord Jesus, we wanna manifest our love for missions by supporting
missions, by helping our missionaries, by manifesting our good works
in these missionaries, by funding them, by praying for them, doing
everything we can for them, as they're out there on the field,
as they are building the kingdom of God. So that missions can
be manifested in their life. So the love of Christ can in
turn be manifested in their life to the places where they are
called to be. And we can help them to be a
part of that. But the magnitude of missions, all the earth, the
manifestation of missions, he says, sing unto the Lord and bless
his name. Show forth his salvation from
day to day. There in verses three to five,
we also see the message of missions. The Bible says, declare his glory
among the heathen. Now, if we're gonna declare his
glory, what does glory mean? Well, glory has the idea of praise,
has the idea of worship, has the idea of magnificence, has
the idea of honor, has the idea of making a distinction. We need
to make God distinct. We need to make the Lord Jesus
distinct. from all the other things in this world. What's
the purpose? What's the reason why? We'll take a look at the
next verse. For the Lord is great and greatly to be praised. He
is to be feared above all what? Gods, because why verse five?
For all the gods of the nations are idols. But the Lord made
the heavens. So we need to manifest who the
Lord Jesus is, that he is in our life. We not only need to
preach it, but to demonstrate it, but to show it every single
day, to manifest the light of truth, to declare the light of
truth, to tell the lost nations about the Lord Jesus, so they
too can be saved, because God's desire is that they sing a new
song, because that is a magnitude of missions, to go ye into all
of the world and preach the gospel to every creature. And so we
can see here in verse three, that we're going to declare his
glory among the heathens. We're going to preach and we're
going to teach about the honor of God. We're going to demonstrate
the praise and worship and the magnificence of God. And we're
going to make a distinction between God and the idols of this world.
And one of the great distinctions between God in the idols of this
world, is one of the things that we see, and we understand, listen,
just by an everyday, just by going through some of the things
that some of the idols that they teach, these other religions
teach in the world, is that all these other religions, it's all
about what can their God do for them. But in Christianity, for
Christ, it's different than that. It's different. Christ is a person. Christ is a person and he comes
and he lives and he dwells inside of us. I've never seen to this
day, I've never seen to this day anything that's made out
of rocks or in the form of man or in the form of fish or in
the form of any other false gods that's in this world ever do
anything for anybody. My friend of mine, their mom,
as we talked about it not too long ago, she was a Buddhist
and served, I mean, prayed to Buddha forever, you know, as
far as I know. That's what she grew up in and that's what she
did. But just a few weeks ago, she trusted Christ as her savior
and got saved. I mean, she had been praying to Buddha her whole
life, grew up in that. But just a few weeks ago, she
got saved. The light of truth. was shed
on her life. The darkness had passed away. She became a new creature in
the Lord. The Bible says here in the text, declare his glory,
wanna make a difference between God, the living God, a distinction,
the magnificence, the honor, the majesty, the power that God
has from all the other gods of this world. The Bible says there
in verse three, declare his glory among the heathen. Why would
we make that distinction among the heathen? Because God's desire
there in verse one is that they hear a new song, all of the earth.
And so we declare his glory. We go out and we preach and teach
to the folks out here in this world that listen, there is only
one God. the living God, who sent his
only begotten son, that died on the cross and shed his blood
for the sins of the world, and that it is only by him and through
him that a man can get to heaven, and that it is only by him and
through him that a man can come before God. And that is part
of our mission. That's part of our mission. Jesus,
when he came to this world, what did he say? He said, I came to
seek and to save that which is lost. That was his mission. That
should be our mission. The Bible says, declare his glory
among the heathen, and that is what our missionaries do. They
take what they know, they take the truth, they take the light,
and they go out to the nations that are unsaved. They go to
places that are in darkness, they go to places that are in
bondage, to all different types of things. Listen, you would
be amazed, amazed, at some of these places that these missionaries
go to, the demons and the witchcraft and all of that stuff that's
in these places. You would be amazed at the things
that they have to deal with and the things that they have to
fight against in some of these places that they go. The Bible
says there in verse three, to declare his glory among the heathens. To the people that are lost,
to the people that are sitting in darkness. The Bible says there in verse
three, to declare his glory among the heathen, his wonders among
all the people. Not only are we gonna make a
distinction in God and the rest of these, in God and these other
false gods, but there in verse three, we're also gonna declare
his wonders among the people. And what would that be? What
would these wonders be? Those wonders would be, what Christ has done, all the
things that he's done. Every single one of us here this
morning, to some degree, we've got a testimony. We can tell
people. You wanna know how I know Jesus
is real? You wanna know how I know he lives? You wanna know how
I know he rose on the third day? Because let me tell you what
he did for me in my life. Let me tell you where he brought
me from. Let me tell you the victories that he's given me.
All of us here this morning, we can declare the wonders of
God. We can manifest him in our life
to people that are dying and they're lost and they don't know
truth. They're bowing down and worshiping
these evil things that are out here in this world. Either they're
atheistic or they're agnostic or they're serving all these
other different false gods of the world, whatever it could
be. The Bible's called us here in the text to declare his glory. To tell people about the salvation
of Christ, that he can save, and it doesn't matter how far
out there in the darkness that they've gone, that his hand is
not shortened, that he cannot lift them out of the place that
they're in. To declare his glory among the heathen, those that
are lost, and his wonders among the people. Tell everybody about
the things that he's done that are marvelous, his power that
he has. For the purpose of there in verse
four, For the Lord is great and greatly to be praised. He is
to be feared above all gods. And why would we say that? Why
would God need to be feared above all gods? Well, if there's only
one God that's real, if there's only one true and living God,
then it is that God that is the judge of all the earth. That
means it is that God, that means it is that God that's given us
the opportunity to get saved today. The Bible says that there's
a devil's hell that awaits those that die without Christ. I would
say that's something to fear. I would say dying lost and spending
an eternity in a devil's hell, I would say that's something
to fear. I would say that standing before an almighty God at the
great white throne of judgment and having to answer for every
sin that we've ever committed, I would say that's something
to fear. Amen. I would say that as we stand
before God and the books are opened as the Bible teaches us
in the book of Revelation, that the books are opened and this
book's open and this book's open and there is a record of every
sin that we've committed and all the things that was said
in the closets has now been revealed. And all the things that were
hidden in darkness has now come to light and as the Lord Jesus
sits there on the throne of power and his eyes of fire go through
the very soul of the individual that's standing there, that understands
and knows every motive. of the heart. There's not a man
that'll be able to ever stand before God and try to come up
with a good excuse. Listen, I'm just trying to get
us to see and understand this morning that missions is so important. Listen, not just abroad, but
here, right outside those doors, because people are dying lost
all around us. He is greatly to be praised.
Why? Because he saves. He is greatly
to be feared. Why? Because he is the judge.
For all the gods of the nations, there in verse five, are idols,
but the Lord made the heavens. As we stop there at verse five,
understanding here this morning, the magnitude of missions, the
manifestation of missions and the message of missions. is to
go out there in verse three to declare his glory among the heathen,
to tell people there's a God in heaven that loves them, to
show people that, listen, that there is a way that is far better
than the way you're living, that there is freedom in the Lord
Jesus. You've heard me say this before.
People say, well, I'll just sow all my wild oats and I'm just
gonna live how I wanna live and when I get ready to get saved,
You know, when I wanna trust Christ, I'll get saved. It don't
always work out that way. The Bible says, what is your
life? It's but a vapor that appears for a little time and then vanishes
away. You're not guaranteed the next second. And then none of
us are here this morning. It don't matter how old we are,
it don't matter if we're young or old. Listen, people die young and
old all the time. Death is no respecter of persons.
God, the Bible says, is no respecter of persons. Doesn't matter how
good you are. Doesn't matter how religious
you try to be. Doesn't matter what you give
to missions. Doesn't matter how many times you sing in the choir.
Doesn't matter even as a pastor or even as a Sunday school teacher
or anybody else that teaches, anytime you melt any kind of
pulpit and you get in there to teach and preach God's word,
if you're not saved, none of it means anything. You're a lost
man. And God is the judge. and there
is nothing that happens outside of the sight of God. The Bible
shows us here in verse three, we are to declare his glory among
the heathens. We are to make a distinction
about our God. The Bible says for us to be ready
to give an answer to every man, to ask us of the hope that is
within us. to be ready to give an answer,
to be able to tell people, listen, how I got saved, who Jesus is,
why I'm saved, why I needed to get saved, all these things.
Listen, if you're saved here this morning, you ought to be
able to tell somebody how to get saved. Because you should
know what happened to you, amen? If you're saved here this morning,
you ought to know how to tell somebody how to get saved. Because you
know what happened to you. You know, you realize who you
were. You realize who the Lord Jesus
is. And you realize what it is that
you needed to do. So don't ever, don't ever get
this idea and let the devil put this idea in your head that I
can't lead nobody to the Lord. No, yeah, you can. That's the
gift that God gave us all to do. If you're saved here today,
anybody here can lead somebody to the Lord. You know how you
got saved. The Bible says declare his glory.
Tell everybody about him. His wonders amongst all the people. For the Lord is great and greatly
to be praised. He is to be feared above all
gods. For all the gods of the nations
are idols. But the Lord made the heavens. He brings that out
distinctly because most of the idols that these people serve
out here in the world I feel like that their gods are the
ones that made all that there is. I was laughing the other
day at some folks that believe, wasn't laughing at them, but
I was just laughing at something. Well, I guess I was kind of at them.
But they believe in the big bang theory and all of this. And they
put this telescope out there, that James Webb telescope thing.
And they put that thing out there and they're looking at all this
crazy stuff out there. And to me, I'm just like, hey,
the heavens declare his handiwork. I'm just like, man, it all points
to the Lord. And they all went back, and they
look back through all these telescopes, and looking back at this one
particular place where they think, this is where the big bang started.
And then they got this new telescope, this James Webb telescope, and
it's actually looking beyond that, and they're thinking, well,
how did this get here if that was over there? Completely destroyed
their whole theory. They don't wanna admit it, and
they don't wanna own up to it. But now they're scratching their
heads. But you can trust the science. I shouldn't have said
that. But I will just say this. Listen,
we got to trust God. God's the one that made everything
that there is. Listen, I'm not against science. I love science.
Science is in the scriptures. I love good science. But everything
that we have in life, it don't matter what it is. We have to
analyze it like this. Whatever it is in life, you have
to analyze everything through the lens of the Bible. Does that
make sense? The world can say what it won't.
See, if we flip this around this way, we're gonna have some problems. But everything we do in life,
we analyze it, we investigate it, we magnify it through the
lens of the Scripture, through the scope of God's Word. What
does God's Word say? Because we can't do this. We
gotta make sure we do that. Let's pray this morning. Father, we come to you today. We thank you, Lord, for your
blessings. God, you're so good. Lord, I
pray here this morning that if there's anybody here today that
don't know you as their personal savior, that today would be the
day that they would call out to you for salvation. It could
be today that you've just spoken to somebody's heart about something.
It may not have had anything to do with this message here
this morning, but God, here they are, and you're speaking to their
heart about something in their life. And you're desiring for
them to make a change. You're desiring for them to either
come to know you as Savior or to come back to you because they've
gotten away. Or maybe it is, Lord, that you're speaking to
folks about just some certain things that are in our lives
that don't belong. Maybe there's some hindrances
that are there that are keeping us from living our life for you
like we need to. Maybe it is that there's folks
here today that need strength, they need guidance, they need
some help. Lord, whatever it is that people need today, God,
you know what it is, and I pray to you to help us to supply,
that you can supply that need for them. If there's anybody
here this morning that has a piano, please. And you don't know Christ,
your personal savior. I'm not gonna come to you, not
gonna embarrass you, not gonna call you up. You just say, preacher,
you know what, I'm not saved. I've never trusted Christ as
my savior. If I died today, I wouldn't go to heaven. Or I don't know
if I would. Anybody like that here this morning?
