A Covenant Without Fault
Series Hebrews
65
Returning to Hebrews 8, we want to continue our look at the distinctions between the two great Covenants- Sinai and the New Covenant. In today's text, our author describes the Old Covenant as having fault, needing to be replaced, obsolete, and ready to vanish away. These are startling terms, yet they point to the fullness of the covenant theology of our text. The Mosaic covenant had an important purpose, but that purpose was in preparation for the new, more glorious, and efficacious Covenant in Christ.
