for the reading of God's Word. Matthew chapter 28. Matthew chapter
28. If you have your Bible on the
cell phone, whatever you have it on your iPad and paper Bible,
let's look at Matthew 28 verse 1. The kids are dismissed, going
to be with Mrs. Barbosa there, there you go. It says, in the end of the Sabbath,
at the beginning of dawn, towards the first day of the week, came
Mary Magdalene and the other Mary to see the sepulchre. And behold, there was a great
earthquake, for the angel of the Lord descended from heaven
and came and rolled back the stone from the door and sat upon
it. His condiments were like lightning
and his raiment white as snow. And for fear of him the keepers
did shake and became as dead men. Folks, this is men of war,
and this is Roman soldiers. And the angel answered and said
unto the woman, Fear not ye, for I know what ye seek, Jesus
which was crucified. He is not here, for he is risen.
And he said, Come, see the place where the Lord laid. And go quickly
and tell his disciples that he is risen from the dead, and behold,
he goeth before you into Galilee, that ye shall see him, and lo,
I have told you. And they departed quickly from
the sepulchre," doesn't want to come out that word today,
"...with fear and great joy, and did run to bring his disciples
word. And as they went to tell his
disciples, behold, Jesus met them saying, Oh, hail. And they came and held him by
the feet and worshiped him. And he said unto them, Be not
afraid. Go tell my brethren that they go into Galilee and there
shall they see me. Let's pray. Heavenly Father,
thank you, Lord, for this passage of scripture. Lord, you didn't
leave anyone hanging. If you rose from the dead or
not, you rose from the dead. despise what people say, despise
the mockery of the world. We believers believe that you
rose from the dead. You are very present in our lives,
in our dreams, in our hopes. And we can tell the world that
Jesus lives. Father Lord, I pray for someone
here today that don't know you as Lord and Savior. May today
they take your word seriously and call upon you for salvation.
In Jesus name I pray. Amen. You may be seated. Maybe
we should have resurrection Sunday every Sunday so I can have gifts.
No, I'm just kidding. You guys really got me. Anyway,
the day of the dawn of victory, the title of the message. So
the hope of Christianity, I said this morning at Sunday school,
is based on the fact that Jesus rose from the dead. Because without
the resurrection, all of us would be here wasting our time. there's
a time of great celebration because listen to me Jesus lives you
know what and if you don't believe that then do a study yourself
go search the ages and go search history and you're only going
to see you're going to see that Jesus indeed indeed lives folks
what separates Christianity from every other religion in the face
of the earth is the fact that he lives the tomb is empty every
leader of every religion in this world you know where they are
in the grave. The tomb of our Savior is empty.
Jesus rose from the dead. You know, somebody said the other
day to me, you know, Oh, Jesus didn't really die. You know,
he was hanging on that cross and he lived and they put him
on the tomb. But when he woke up of his sleep,
he moved the stone and he walked away. And I said, you're such
a liar. First of all the Romans soldiers
if they didn't execute what they were told they would be killed
themselves. That's the first truth. The second truth is was
40 lashes in the way they did it most people didn't live their
punishment. They went way and above 40 lashes.
Satan it was in rage against Jesus. And Jesus suffered all
that, bled, they make him walk to Calcutta, all the way to Calvary,
they nail him to a cross. And I tell you what, when they
pierced his side and blood and water came out, you know what
that means? He was dead. He said, it is finished. He came to accomplish what a
father told him to do. That was the plan of God, to
die for you and me. He shed His blood on Calvary's
cross. And I'll tell you what, the person in this world, I don't
care how intelligent that person is, how rich that person is,
if he misses this, if he misses the gift of salvation, if he
misses the gift of God, the Bible says, what accomplish a man to
conquer the whole world and lose his own soul. I will tell Jesus
what He wants to hear when I die. No, you will bow down and you
will acknowledge that He is God. Doesn't make you go to heaven.
So for many people, Easter Sunday, I don't like the word Easter,
or Resurrection Sunday, is more about eggs and bunnies, good
meals, new clothes, keeping with the traditions. Listen, I'm not
against traditions, don't get me wrong, okay? But where traditions
have their place. We have to do what is true, first
God and everything else. Is it right to have a good dress
or a new dress, a new suit? No. Is it right to have a new
pair of shoes, a new pair of socks, a new shirt? No. It makes
you feel good sometimes, doesn't it? Yeah. I went to buy food
for this morning breakfast and I was already looking at the
shirt. told my wife I gotta get out of here because I'm gonna
buy the whole store tonight you know you get those days right
that you you feel like you want to buy everything the next day
you go when the will I bought this stuff for but anyway but
many people think that Easter or this time of the year is about
eggs and Easter bunny you know in my country where I come from
bunnies go go to the oven in our pants but anyway some others
uh market at the beginning of a long vacation season but for
the believer resurrection sunday is a celebration of our glorious
or the glorious of the resurrection of our lord jesus christ he rose
from the dead that's why we sing he rose from the dead that's
why we read our bible he rose from the dead that's why we pray
he rose from the dead that's why we live the way we live he
rose from the dead because we believe And you know what? The world can go their way and
we go our way. Don't you know that Jesus did
not convince people of our salvation? He just told them. You know what the thing is? It's
not like we're trying to convince people. People get bothered by our testimony. So they pick on you. And they
pick on you. Not because you're going to work
purposely to provoke people. They provoke you. Because they
don't like for you what you stand for. They don't like the way
you live. They don't like the way you speak. They did the same
thing to Jesus. Now, let me remind you this morning
that Jesus' death was not the end of the story. In fact, if
his death had been the end of the story, we would not be here
this morning. Had Jesus not risen from the grave, we would be hopeless.
The world would go in its own way. But believe me folks, Jesus'
resurrection sets apart from all who come before him. Jesus'
resurrection is the source the assurance and the hope that we
carry in our hearts because he lives those who belong to him
are promised eternal life by the way every human being have
eternal life but not everybody's going to heaven some people think
our world today is like this i'm a good person i do good deeds
you know at lent this time of the year i don't eat chocolate
I don't eat meat. If I eat meat, I go pay so I
can go to heaven. You know what? That doesn't please
God. You know what gets us to heaven? Get us to heaven is when
we put our faith and trust in the Lord Jesus Christ. No religion
can get us to heaven. Not even if you sit here and
you think if you're being religious, you're going to heaven. You're
not going there. He said, well, that's what the Bible says. Jesus
said, I am the way, the truth and the life. No man come unto
the Father, but by me. So let us look at this great
passage from several points this morning. Number one, a time of
sorrow. Look what it says in verse one.
At the end of the Sabbath, when is the Sabbath folks? Saturday. As it began to dawn towards the
first day of the week, what's the first day of the week? Sunday,
came Mary Magdalene and the other Mary to see the sepulcher. We
find the woman coming very early on Sunday morning to the tomb
where Jesus laid. The other gospel speaks of them
bringing spices to anoint the body. Why? They were not expecting
Jesus to be alive. To them Jesus died on that cross,
to them they put it on the tomb, the hopes were gone forever. They forgot what Jesus said that
he would rise again. So to them they were going to
put spices, they were going to embalm the body because the way
they put him on the tomb, they were going to do something. So
it was a time of sorrow, there was no hope, there was no, oh
maybe he lives. You know what? People understand
when a dead body is dead, he's dead. Ever touch a dead body? It's cold, it's lifeless. There's
no life in there. Jesus died. I believe that there
was much sorrow in the heart of this woman in that early Sunday
morning. Did you ever lost a loved one?
Is your heart crying? Is sorrow in your heart? Don't
matter if it's sunny skies, don't matter if you see the birds,
whatever it is, your heart is in pain. you lost someone that
was dear to you that you love and is gone you know these women
walked to the tomb and in their hearts Jesus was gone they went there not to see him
alive they went there because they knew he was dead so we see a time of sorrow that
is like a thief because it robs you of your loved ones Isn't
it? You see, people said, Hosanna,
Hosanna, when Jesus walked on Palm Sunday in the city walls
of Jerusalem. And many of those people said,
crucify Him, crucify Him. But there was people there in
Jerusalem that loved Jesus. Their voices were suffocated
by the others, by the crowd. But it was people there that
loved Jesus. we have billions of people of this world in this
world but there are a few bunch today that love Jesus the crowds
might be enormous millions of people might walk in the other
way and say I don't care about church I don't care about you
Jesus I don't care about your Bible but there's a few that
say I believe that he is alive forevermore and as long as I
live I will worship him you see it was a time of sorrow because
that took someone that they loved and it was not a it was a public
death it was an execution it was a a oh goodness if you even
been there that was a sorrowful thing what
a scene so it was a time of sorrow number two a time of wonder. We see this from verse 2 and
verse 6. As the woman made it to the to the tomb, they did
not find what they expected. What they expected a dead body,
a dead Jesus, a sealed tomb. This moment of weeping and sorrow
quickly became a moment of wonder and like what happened here?
They consider, let's let A, the stone. Look at verse 2. And they
said among themselves, who shall roll away the stone from the
door of the supper cup? So they were thinking goodness
jesus is in the tomb there is a big stone in there it's sealed
we ladies in here i'm sorry i'm not trying to put you down here
but men usually normally are much stronger than women but
think about it that stone it weighed tons and they were going
over there full of faith they're going to take care of the body
and they're thinking about about the stone you're going to roll
the stone away for us to get in You see, they're thinking, they're
talking amongst themselves. They were not talking about Jesus
is alive. They think, how are we going
to get in? Besides that, there were soldiers there because they
want to make sure nobody would steal the body of Jesus and say
that he lives. Because the Pharisees and the
Sadducees saying, you know, they went to ask for soldiers. So
there were disciples went to steal the body and say that,
oh, I see he rose from the dead. So they're all prepared for that.
Guess what? There was a time of wondering what's going to
happen here. But it did not prevent for them to go there. They went
there anyway. Was it concern? No. It was concern. So thank God the Lord took care
of the stone. Not to let Jesus out. He was
long gone before the angel had arrived there in the scene. The
stone was removed away so that man could look inside the tomb
and see that he was empty. God didn't need an angel to come
and wake him up from his death. No, no. Jesus was already gone.
You know, when God emptied that tomb and the angel removed that
stone, it's for us to look in and see that it is empty. We
worship Jesus, we believe that He is God because the tomb is
empty. What a world we live in, right?
Don't you heart cry when somebody makes mockery of Jesus? I have
a brother of mine, he was working as a bank teller and one of the
workers was making mockery of Jesus. He looked at them and
said, can you please stop making fun of my Savior, my God, my
King, my Heavenly Father. And he said, there's a big silence
in that whole bank. He didn't realize how loud he
said it. Sometimes your voice wants to cry out because we know
it's true. We know it's real. I got very excited when somebody
says things about Jesus. I got very excited. So thank
God that the Lord took care of the stone. It says, verse two,
and behold, there was a great earthquake for the angels of
the Lord descended from heaven and came and rolled back the
stone from the door and sat upon it. There was a legions of soldiers
there. How many soldiers were there?
About a hundred? Maybe more? Listen to me, men
of war, men who were trained to kill and if something would
escape from them, they're the ones who'd be killed. That was
the Roman law. So let it be, we see this splendor.
Look at verse 2, 3 and 4. It says, actually, let's look
at verse 4 and it says, So folks, this is funny right here. These
men of war trained to kill are plain dead because they were
afraid of one angel. When I get to heaven, I'm going
to tell God what he needs to hear. Yes, you are. Of course you are. See the woman did not find what
they expected there was a dead Jesus. Not only was the stone
rolled away, they also encountered a heavenly visitor at the tomb.
The guards no doubt, the best pilot had, passed out in fear
for the angel. He had rolled the stone from
the door and was sitting up on it. as heavenly continents show
brightness and as lightning and as clothes, you know, white clothes
as white as snow. The angel appearance was not
what Western culture as even think about or do. So this wasn't
a little half naked baby with wings and a harp, okay. This
was an angelical host, the angel of the Lord. You know, people
picture angels as this little thing with a little diaper thing
with the harp stick. That's not an angel. That's a
make-believe nonsense. Or they say that my grandmother
and my grandpa are angels. No, they're not. Angels are angelical
hosts. God created the angels. Maybe
one day we're going to have something about angels here. So, this was
a moment of triumph for Jesus. God triumphed over the tomb.
Satan, folks, lost. Satan lost. God won. humanity of hope. Listen to this,
Satan lost, God won, humanity of hope. The chief priests and Pharisees
were concerned that the prophecy of Jesus might actually come
true. And they wanted a guard to be posted on the tomb and
they did. Isn't that sad to say that sometimes non-believers
know the Bible better than believers do? You say something and said, you're
not supposed to talk like that. You act some way, you're not
supposed to act like that. Isn't that true? You know why? Sometimes they know their Bible
better than we do and they're not even believers. Let us see,
we see the sepulcher. And the angel, look what it says
in verse six. He is not here. for he is risen look what he
says don't stop there as he said come and see the place where
the lord lay you see it's an invitation here he said he's
not here don't look for the dead he lives you don't believe me
come in come see it look for yourself you know so one time
we led a lady to the lord We, it's ironically, our God have
these divine appointments. We had three addresses and all
three addresses were wrong addresses. And we were like, I can't believe
people actually lie and give wrong information on these papers.
And we talk amongst each other. It was me, this brother of mine,
his wife and me, I was in the back seat. So we're driving.
I said, well, let's go down the street. We knock on the first
house. I mean, actually the door was a storm door. And she was
in the phone in the middle of the living room. We just knock
on the door. She came right to the door and we introduced where
we were, our names, what church we were coming from. And we start
talking to her and she says, I don't believe a word you guys
say. My friend goes like this. Can
you read the Bible? Put her right on Romans chapter
10. She began to read and she said, this is the Bible. Yeah,
here's the Bible, the Word of God. She bought her head and
gave her life to Christ. God invites you in. You don't
believe in me? Read my words. You don't believe
in me? Look at the tomb, it's empty.
The angel invites the woman to come in so they could believe
that Jesus indeed rose from the dead. See, the tomb is empty. Folks,
it's still empty today. It's still empty. So. This is message inspire them
to believe in the resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ. Notice
what Jesus remind them of. The number one was of the past. We see this in verse five. They
were reminded of the crucifixion. Of course, these ladies needed
to such reminded as well. They remind us, come and see
the Lord was dead. Now he lives of the present.
You see in verse six says, you are here at this tomb, but he's
not here. He lives. He's risen from the
dead. So in the past, Jesus died. In the present, He lives. In
the future, He's coming. You follow that? That's the promise
of Christianity. In the past, yes, He died. No
doubt that He died. In the present, right there when
those ladies went there, He was living. And today, He still lives. Listen to me. His debts, or Jesus'
debt, was the perfect eternal payment for sin. but his resurrection
was God's receipt for the full amount. God paid in full the
payment of our sin. You see, a dead Savior cannot
save anyone. But a living Savior can offer
salvation to all who come to Him by faith. When Jesus died
on the cross, He said, it is finished. When He arose from
the dead, God the Father said, I'm satisfied. Now Jesus had
proven that He indeed was who He claimed to be. He said before
Abraham was, I am. And today he's still saying,
I am the good physician, I am the great physician, I am that
I am, I am he who rose from the dead. And in Revelation he says,
I am the Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end. And if
you understand then the original Greek word, the Korney Greek,
it says, is the first letter of the Korney Greek, is the last
letter of the Korney Greek alphabet, it says, he is it, is no one
else. Number three, we see of the promise
in verse six. They are reminded that his resurrection
should not have been taken by surprise. He told his disciples
that he was going to rise from the dead. It was no surprise. He said, as Jonah was in the
belly of the fish for three days, so the Son of Man shall rise. the resurrection should not have
caught them off guard the crucifixion should not have them caught by
surprise they should have been holding worship service outside
the tomb that day or that morning but they did they all scared
and ran for their lives you know what God says about that don't
be afraid what men can do to you number four we see of the proof
the angel Invitation is for them to look into the tomb and see
for themselves that Jesus is gone Let me put it this way folks.
You know how many people? through the ages have tried to
Discredit Christianity They have tried they use tons of money
and resources to try to say that Christianity is a lie many of
them became believers Ohman say most of them became believers Don't you know that church and
the Bible is a preparation for heaven? What do you think we're
going to do when we get to heaven? It's going to be a lot of worship
and a lot of singing, so might as well practice here. Right? And if you're out of tune,
don't worry about it. keep practicing good night so
number one we see a time of sorrow number two we see a time of wonder
number three a time of witness Look, as wonderful and as exciting
as this event of Jesus being alive, the woman could not remain
at the tomb. Christ had risen and there must
be good news. Consider this, the proclamation,
look at verse 7, You know what? He lives, go and tell. He lives,
go and tell. Why we Christians open our mouths
and say? Because people need to hear.
I am so glad for the person that led me to the Lord Jesus Christ. You know why? Because today I
know I'm going to heaven. I know because of me, God used me to
witness to others so others go to heaven. I told why? We cannot
stay quiet. You know what, Jeremiah was the
one who said that, it's like, I can't be quiet because it's
burning me. Listen folks, if we are Christians
and we lost the desire to tell others about Jesus, something
is wrong, not with God, it's with us. We lost, we lost the
love for the Lord. Because our love for Him, knowing
the truth, causes us to tell others. What happened to the
shepherds when they heard the news in the hills of Bethlehem?
They came, the Bible says, really fast. And when they left, what
did they do? They told everybody about it.
Did everybody went to see? No. Isn't that sad? When the Magi came to worship
Jesus, they stopped and who did they talk with? Who else was there? The doctors
of the law. They said, in Bethlehem of Judea. They didn't go. They didn't go. You see, this is a time of witnessing. Why we tell others about Jesus?
Because He lives. And because He lives, we proclaim
it to a world that needs Jesus. Folks, your best friend needs
Jesus. Your loved one needs Jesus. Your
neighbor needs Jesus. Your co-worker needs Jesus. You
know what? If we love them, we tell them
the truth. I told them a million times, they don't hear. Keep
telling them. But I don't want to shove religion on their throat.
You know what? That's a worldly excuse. They told you your stories. sometimes
we spend hours and hours talking about football and basketball
and baseball we didn't know that the things in great great detail
we don't know our bibles oh time of proclamation those women
they were full of see they went there to put stuff spices in
a dead body they came out of there with hope rejoicing and
gratitude and they went and ran to tell the disciples let me put it this way if you have
a loved one that died all right i'm trying to just make you think
okay let's say you go to the funeral home and the person is
dead and then suddenly the person comes alive and tells go tell
the whole family what did you do Hey, Aunt Mary, she's alive.
Come on, listen to this. No, I don't believe you. Come
and see, come and see. She's still, she's just sitting
on that thing and she's having lunch. Oh, come see. The angel said, come and go,
look in, look at it. It's empty. Listen, the woman were the first
to share the good news of the gospel, but they were not the
last. We too must witness to the resurrection
of Jesus Christ. The saved have received the gospel
message. We know our Lord lives and continues
to save. We must proclaim His glorious
resurrection to the world. The tomb, folks, is empty. Christ arose from the grave.
He triumphed over sin and death. There is hope of salvation to
every human being. Numbers let it be the expectation
look over seven and go quickly and tell his disciples that he's
risen from the dead and behold he goeth before you into Galilee
there shall ye see him and lo I have told you nobody else he
said told the news I told you and you know what he went they
went there let us see we see the jubilation look at verse
8 and they departed quickly from the sepulchre and fear and great
with fear and great joy and did run to bring his disciples word
you know what fear because they saw something unnatural they
saw an angelic being there you know what joy because Jesus was
living please do not lose the joy of
your salvation don't lose it Remember the day you got saved?
Remember the day somebody led you to Christ? Don't lose it. Think about it. Jesus went to
Calvary's cross. Jesus died for me. This moment,
the click in that woman's mind, doubt and fear met hope and assurance. They came expecting to anoint
a dead body but left with the promise of meeting a living Lord. They ran with fear, reverence
and honor and great joy. They couldn't wait to share the
good news to his disciples. Jesus had risen. Jesus was alive.
But it was one there that didn't believe. His name was Thomas. Unless I see and touch, I don't
believe. Listen folks, life brings its
share of difficulty. We have gathered this morning
on the Resurrection Sunday to worship the Lord, but many are
burned even today. Our troubles may not melt away,
but we have the assurance that Jesus lives. Listen, Jesus did
not promise that if you come to Him and receive Him as your
Savior, that your problems will go away. that your sickness will
go away. It doesn't go away. You know
why? Because we live in a sinful world and we have a sin for nature
but he just do promise of a life abundantly. He do promise you
that your sins will be forgiven. He promised you of a place in
heaven. You say well but you know heaven can be many years
from now. It can be tonight or can be tomorrow. You see, my last point is at
a time of worship. Look at verse 9 and 10, it says, And he said unto them, Be not
afraid. Go tell my brethren that they go unto Galilee, and they
shall see they see me. As they were going to tell others,
Jesus himself met them in the way. He came to give them a personal
word of encouragement and hope. All hail, man means all joy.
He came to them personally so that they might know firsthand
that he had indeed risen from the dead. You know, I just say
the angel said, Come and see, look in. And Jesus said, hey,
it's me right here. I'm not a story. I'm alive. When he shows in the room, in
the locked room, and he calls Thomas, he said, Thomas, come
here. Touch me. I'm not a ghost. Touch me. You know what Thomas said? My
Lord and my God. Thomas had to touch. But Jesus
said, I'm not a ghost. You see, Jesus' appearance, letter
A, as they were almost done, as they went to tell his disciples,
behold, Jesus met them saying, and as the woman made their way
back to town, they encountered the risen savior. He met them
in the way and he spoke to them. Can you imagine that? I rejoiced
for the day I encountered Jesus. I rejoiced for the day somebody
sent me to Jesus saying, you know, you need to receive Jesus
as you say. I remember walking up that church. And when I came
up was a man with the Bible in the front and said to me, what
are you coming for? I said, I want to receive Jesus as my savior.
I want to meet him. Come over here. We got on our
knees right in the altar. He opened his Bible and he showed
me from the Bible how I could be saved. I never forgot that
day. You see, worship came natural
to these women. Worship comes natural to every
child of God. Listen, I have a problem with
a person that says he's a Christian, but I have a problem with worshiping
the Lord. Listen folks, we come to church
because He lives. We sing songs of praise because
He lives. We tell others about because we believe that He lives.
We give to missions because He lives. We preach His word because
He lives. We pray because He lives. We
live with great hope for tomorrow because He lives. We are here
today because we believe that He lives. Listen, I want to do
something very nice this morning. Look at the person next to you.
Just say these words. All right? Jesus lives and He
loves you. Well, let's say it like we really
believe. Hey, Jesus lives and He loves
you. Let us see. Almost done. Jesus'
affirmation. Look what it says. And He said
unto them, be not afraid. Be not afraid. You know, people
live in this world petrified with fear. And God says to you
and me, do not be afraid. Why are you afraid of dying? O death, where's thy sting? O
grave, where's thy victory? Listen, when we pass from this
life to that, it's just a goodbye for all time. We're going to
heaven. We will come back again. He says be not afraid. Don't be
afraid. Be not afraid. Go tell my brethren that what
you saw is true. Tell them. You don't be afraid. Tell them
not to be afraid because they're hiding for fear. Listen, this was just not about
bodily meeting to come. It confirms that He is who He
says He was. He has fulfilled the plans and
the will of the Heavenly Father. He had finished the work. He
came to perform. He was deemed no doubt, rose
from the dead, and He's telling His disciples, those women, go
and tell them that I live. I conclude with this. Resurrection
Sunday is every Sunday. We have a mission. The Bible
says, go ye throughout the world and preach the gospel to every
creature. It don't matter what language
they talk, the color of their skin. It don't matter who they
are. God says, go and tell every creature that Jesus lives. The tomb is empty. Without resurrection,
Christianity is nothing. Jesus rose from the dead. We
serve a risen Savior. Here's my question. Do you know
him today? Now you heard about Jesus. Do
you know him personally? Is he your Savior? Is he your
Lord? Is he your King? Is he your God?
If not, you need to do something with Jesus. either you're going
to spend the rest of your life rejecting him or you're going
to receive him as you say he's not going away what's going to
be folks resurrection sunday is a celebration for the saved not for the unsaved got that resurrection sunday is a is a
celebration for god's people You follow that? God's people
celebrate the resurrection of our Savior. That's what is a
time of great celebration. So spend the rest of the day
celebrating this great resurrection. You know, if the Savior doesn't
know, they don't know. They might come in. Let them
come in and hear about the great Savior. But it's our celebration. A celebration because you know
what? That's our hope. That's our eternal hope. Jesus
lives forevermore. He's the greatest celebration.
He's coming again. Not as a servant, but as a conqueror,
as a king of kings and the Lord of lords. He's coming again.
It might be today. It might be tomorrow. But our
blessed hope is coming. Because why? The tomb is empty
and because He lives. Let's pray. Heavenly Father,
thank you, Lord, for so great salvation. Thank you, Lord, for
your blood that you shed on that cross, and you bled and died
for each one of us. Lord, there is room at the cross
for one more, and that person might be here today. He might
be online listening, watching, might be here sitting here. Lord,
your words, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No man cometh
to the Father but by me. May Lord just penetrate the heart
and mind of people. They will understand, Lord, that
we're not playing church here. We're not playing religion. We're
proclaiming the truth that Jesus saves. Father, I pray for your
people, for God's people. Lord, transform our lives. Help
us to be a witness to you of your resurrection. Help us to
tell others about your great love for them, for those who
don't know you. In Jesus' name I pray. Amen. If you could stand
please. We have a song of invitation. 131. Jesus paid it all. I'm glad I came to church today.
I'm glad I came to church today. Jesus paid it all, page 131. I heard the Savior say, thy strength
indeed is small. Child of weakness, watch and
pray. Find in me thine all in all. Jesus paid it all, all to Him
I owe. Have any doubts about the resurrection? I hope you don't. If you die today, are you sure
you're going to heaven? Here's the thing. God loves you so much that he
doesn't want you to die in your sin. He wants you to die as a
safe creature so you can go to His heaven. Now your heaven is
heaven. But you have to believe that
Jesus is who He says He is. Emmanuel, God with us. The one
who died and was crucified for your sins and my sins. The one
who rose from the dead and is alive forevermore. We have to
put our faith and trust in the Lord Jesus Christ. Without Jesus
there's no heaven. Without Jesus there's no hope. I sing one more verse, this is
our last verse. Jesus paid it all, all to Him
I owe. Sin had left a cleansing stain,
He washed his white as snow. You may be seated for a second. We
talked about many times here and about memberships and about
baptisms and today...
