113) The Purpose of Faith - James 2:20-24

We're studying the book of James, and we're in chapter 2 where James is teaching us about the two kinds of faith. One kind is dead and it doesn't bring salvation. And James gave us two examples of that kind of faith—the non-saving kind. Then he turns his attention to the kind that does bring salvation, and he gives two examples of this kind as well. The first example is Abraham.
And he brings up two different times in Abraham's life—one from Genesis 15 and one from Genesis 22. And the one in Genesis 22 is the fulfillment of the faith he had in chapter 15. And that's the point James wants us to get today—he wants us to understand about the fulfillment of our faith.
