"I Thirst": Fulfillment Through Completion

As Christ uttered the words, "I thirst" it not only meant that He was suffering in body, but was doing so for the purpose of fulfilling the Scripture. By embracing the full measure of the wrath of God on the cross He completed that work of fulfillment by saying "It is finished."
