Our Redeemer

Three elements appear in these verses: the child's birth (verse 13), Naomi's blessed condition (verses 14-17a), and the child's naming (verse 17b). The effect of this technique was to set Naomi's condition alongside the birth as an essential element in the closing of the story. This concern balances with the attention to Naomi at the opening of this book (1:1-22).
