A Study in Romans 2
Romans 2 is not about judging as much as it is about the reality that we are without a legitimate excuse because we have the capacity to judge. We're to judge everything. For we'll be judged on how we judged. The principles brought to light are not about judging but our guilt because we, like those we judge, have also missed the mark. You must judge and judge rightly to help those understand right and wrong but the fact you can know the difference means you're guilty and without excuse.

Do you think they were greater sinners or worse sinners than others because this happen? No! You will die like them, and you don't know when, repent while you can. (Luke 13) worshippers slaughtered and 18 workers/walking by a tower were slain. They died, unknowingly, unexpectedly and unprepared for death, you too will like them perish if you do not repent.
Roots... we all have them, some are deeper than others and some may be spread out more than most, but we all have them. Even us, as the human race, have a common bond that connects all our roots together. Paul writes about it throughout the book of Romans, and really digs deep in chapter 1, to expose who we are, without Christ, and how we're intertwined under the surface of the ground we've grown out of. And as he transitions into chapter 2 — he helps us see there's not a group of people excluded... we're all in the same boat, and stand in need of His redeeming grace, in this turbulent sea called life.
