Our Master is at God's Right Hand

53 ( 41 | 12 )

Today we come to the very end of Mark's gospel. We will be looking at the last two verses. Remember how Mark began this gospel. He told us right away that he was writing about the gospel of Jesus Christ the Son of God. This was surely very encouraging to the Christians at Rome as they experienced the iron hand of imperial Rome upon them which led to Peter's martyrdom by Emperor Nero. How it must have heartened them to hear in Mark that not Nero, but Jesus was Lord of all. As they read on in the gospel, they saw how weak the apostles were when Jesus was here. They saw how great their Master was—how holy, how pure, how mighty. But here at the end, they are reminded that when He went to glory, He transformed them.
