An Exhortation To Peace and Unity

1,631

An Exhortation to Peace and Unity John Bunyan (1628-1688)

The church in our modern age is plagued with a spirit of bickering and division, though a careful reading of the New Testament will reveal that this is hardly a new problem. Paul put a high priority on unity and peace among the believers that make up the body of Christ (Philippians 2:2). As Bunyan teaches, divisions in the church and disunity are usually a sign of love that has grown cold. And without the love for each other that distinguishes us from the world (John 13:35), we are as salt that has lost its flavour. "Endeavouring to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace." Ephesians 4:3
