Series History of the Church - Class
126 ( 118 | 8 )
In the 4th century Emmelia, known as "the mother of saints", is born in Cappadocia. She is the mother of three of the four famous Christian leaders called the Cappadocians. The Cappadocians were: Basil of Caesarea, Gregory of Nyssa, Gregory of Nazianzus, and Macrina. Theologically, they were pioneers of trinitarian belief, that God is of one substance in three persons. Another major contribution of this group was the introduction of the modern hospital, by Basil.
