It's the End of the World (As We Know It)

Mark 13 culminates with Jesus' remarkable (and heavily repeated) exhortation to "stay awake!" we are always in Gethsemane with our Lord, called to "stay awake" with him. His story will always be our story as the church. We should expect the future to continually turn up the same sorts of patterns and dilemmas and tasks that marked out Jesus' own mission. That's why we need to be on guard!
