The Expectation

While we study through 2 Kings, I thought it would be good to throw in some other book studies that apply to the same times and characters we gleaning from in Kings.

I pray these messages encourage and equip you for your assignments today.

We explore Isaiah and appreciate the value of what was written in the Older Testament, knowing it was written for our learning. And in learning of the trustworthiness of God and the reliability of His message we'll come to expect it as He reveals it. We then can endure all things for the sake of the elect and be wise to help others embrace and experience His saving grace and deliverance.

We can see how uses Isaiah to point out the transgressions of His people in the days of Uzziah and how they turned their heart and affections toward the mystics of the east. The result was oppressive injustice and obstinate disobedience. God revealed Himself to Isaiah and sent Him to preach to an unrighteous and unruly people. How long was He to preach? Until no one or place was left to preach. And like bacon that pulls away from the heat they would draw back, again and again from the preached word but God would not be without a witness and work. So He sent them the prophets. And their fatty hearts hated the heat that His light brought. He reminded them what He and they should..
