Ephesians 3 and 12. Ephesians 3 and 12. Faith is of divine origin. Faith is of divine origin. En ho eccementen paration cai pros agogen en pat poiethesan DIA, TES, HISTIEVES, AUTO. In whom, in whom, little preposition there, just like our English in, page 137, in whom, a little relative pronoun, we have, first person plural, present indicative active, it comes from echo, in whom we consistently and contently and always have the PARACION. PARACION means freedom of speech. It means boldness. And pros agogene, pros agogene comes from pros and ago. It means we have access, access in confidence, in confidence, pepeathesin, locative singular. We have confidence, we have reliance, we have reliance through dia, through preposition, page 90, the pistios, of Him, through the faith of Him, the faith that comes from Him and belongs to Him. We have bound ourselves in God in trust and complete assurance that He shall save us through the blood of His Son, Jesus Christ. Our souls are tied to Him through the redemptive blood of Jesus Christ. When you ask the Lord to save your soul, when you apply that what we might call application of the point of the atonement in Christ, we have assurance of eternal life. We have assurance that He will redeem us. Now, the word Pytho and Pythio in Greek. In Kramer's word studies of the New Testament, and the Old Testament by the way, it says here that Pytho, it means to persuade, be persuaded. And it quotes all types of Old Testament quotations from the Septuagint, from the Greek Old Testament. And it says, faith and trust and peace come from God. It's of divine origin. It doesn't come from us. It's something that God gives us when we believe and trust Him. It comes from the word ma. ba-sa, ba-ba-sa, or cha-sa, el-pizayn, to trust, and comes from the Hebrew and the Nephil, shaman, and the Septuagint. It means to be trusting. It means to believe without sight. to believe with outside, you don't have to see something to believe. And that belief comes from God. All the way from page 829 to 839, it says, faith is of divine origin, in other words. Faith is something that is spiritually applied to you when you trust and believe. To trust Him in all ways, to trust Him to be faithful, and trust Him to save you even though that salvation is not in your hands right now. Faith is a divine origin in that Ephesians 2 and A says, for in grace you are having been saved through faith. And then that faith didn't come from you. The faith does not come from you. It comes from God. It says, Pistio, to believe, is seldom used in profane Greek and religious sense. Still, it does occur at the thesis of atheism. To be an atheist, you have to believe. You have to convince yourself not to believe in God. You have to say, it says in the Hebrew, no God, no God, no God, no God. Faith is of divine confidence. It just goes on and on in this old book here. Now let's go into Hebrews 11 chapter and look at what faith is over there. Hebrews chapter 11. God has spoken to us long ago through the prophets in many portions and in many ways. In these last days He has spoken to us in His Son, by His Son, in whom He appointed heir of all things, through whom He made the worlds, the cosmos. And He is the radiance of His glory, the exact representation of His nature, and upholds all things by the word of his power. When he made purification of sins, he sat down at the right hand of Majesty on high, having become as much better than the angels. He has inherited a more excellent name than all these. To which of the angels did he say, Thou art my son, today I have begotten thee. And again, I will be a father to him and he shall be a son to me." He said, let all the angels of God worship him. Now let's go back to the faith chapter of the Bible. We're talking about faith here and trust. We have boldness, we have freedom of speech, we have access, continual access and confidence through the faith that belongs to God It comes from God. It is what we call the origin of faith. It's from God. It belongs to God and we belong to God when we believe. Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for. For the conviction of things not seen. For by it men of old gained approval By faith we understand that the worlds were prepared by the word of God so that what is seen was made out of things which are visible, not made out of things which are visible. God, now this is going to shake up the Catholic world and some of the Protestant world, but God did not make things out of ex nihilo, out of nothing. Everything came from Him, and Him is not nothing. He is God. All that we see, God made, it came out of Him. God made man as He made the same elements of the earth. He did not make him from dust or dirt or mud. He made him from the same elements that He made dust from. All things came from God. By faith, Abel offered to God a better sacrifice than Cain, through which he obtained the testimony that he was righteous, God testifying about his gifts through faith, though he is dead, yet he still speaks. How did Abel please God? His offering was better. How is it better than Cain's offering? Cain came to God and he believed that God would forgive him and hear his pleas to him. But he used something that was not what God prescribed. He didn't believe God. He wanted to come to God on his own terms. And the terms were wrong. The terms were a cursed offering from a cursed earth. It was a grain offering. The grain offering that earth had been cursed. A cursed offering from a cursed earth. What you have to do is come to God through something that is innocent. Something innocent had to die for you. And that innocent lambs that were killed back then, they didn't eat them. They didn't eat their lambs. They burned them up. They offered them up to God. They didn't eat it. They didn't keep anything. They sacrificed those lambs which were innocent. They had never done anything. These animals were completely innocent now. But something innocent died for that, which is guilty. And Abel believed God that he would forgive him if he did the right thing. Cain wanted to negotiate with God. And God, salvation is not negotiable. Salvation is not by words. It is by faith alone. By faith enough. was taken up so that he should not see death. Enoch and Elijah were two examples of the rapture in the Bible. 1 Thessalonians 4, 16 and 17. This is way back then before they even knew anything about the rapture. God has given us examples of that because he is omniscient. He knows all things. And he was back here in this period of time, right here, God raptured Enoch. By faith Enoch was taken up. He was raptured. He was snatched up that he should not see death. And he was not found because God took him for he obtained the witness that before his being taken up he was pleasing to God. He believed God. He believed God. When you, in the rapture today, when we're out there to be raptured whenever it takes place, in the end of the New Testament church age, By faith we believe and by faith we will be raptured, if it happens in our lifetime. Number six, and without faith it is impossible to please Him, impossible to please God. And where does the faith come? It comes from Him. Once we trust in Him, we make that voluntary commitment, we trust in God, that time At that point, punctillary action, knife blade action, first Aries action, we are saved and we are promised eternal life. And we believe in Him even though we don't have it right now. I'm dying, you know, I mean, all of us are getting older. We're all dying little by little. Sometimes young people die. But still, still, God says, I will give you eternal life. If you trust in Me, if you believe in Me, peace yield, I will give you eternal life. Actually, we have it already. It's something that's done. Not only that, it says we have freedom of access to God. It says we have a boldness, paratia, chi, pros agogene, and pepoethon. We have access to God. We have boldness and access and confidence through Him, through the faith. that God gives us, we have that access. When you come, you pray every night don't you Marilyn? You pray every night, I'm sure you pray several times in the daytime. But when we pray, why would you pray if you didn't think God was here with you? The Bible says we have access to Him. We have promise of that access. But there's a lot of people praying the world, but they're just praying to rocks, they're praying to people, they're praying to whatever. And there is no confidence in that prayer. even though they may be persuaded that that false religion is true, but it is not. God will not what we might call recognize their false religions like He did Cain. That's not negotiable with God. Religion is not negotiable with God. God prescribes the truth. Without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, first of all, and that he is a rewarder of those who seek him. Noah, by faith Noah, being warned of God about things not seen, in reverence prepared an ark for the salvation of his household by which he condemned the world and became an heir of the righteousness which is according to faith. By faith, Noah was praying to God. Now, I'm doing another set of messages on visions, hypnosis, and dreams. Dreams, visions, and hypnosis in the Bible. How God talked to Noah, we don't know, but it was through personal access that Noah had to God. He had freedom of speech in accessing Him. And God spoke back to him. God speaks to us today through His Word and through His Son. by which he condemned the world and became an heir of righteousness, which is according to the faith." By faith, Abraham. Here, we come over here to this period of time now. By faith, Abraham. By faith, because he believed God. By faith, Job did what he did. By faith, Abraham, when he was called, obeyed by going out to a place which was to be received for inheritance, and he went out not knowing where he was going. He just believed God and said, get out there and go. And he did. And I didn't always follow God every way, but by faith, he still will receive an inheritance. Through the Abrahamic covenant and through the Davidic covenant, Israel is promised a kingdom restoration upon the earth. epites geis, upon the earth. El haaretz, in Hebrew, upon the earth, land. Here, not some spiritual kingdom, but a real kingdom in Palestine, which they call today, but it is the land of Canaan, the land of Canaan, the land of promise, the land of the possession that God promised them. Canaan means possession. It's the land of Canaan, not the land of Palestine. By faith, Abraham, when he was called, obeyed going to a place which was to receive an inheritance, and went out, not knowing where he was going, and he never received it either, but he didn't believe God. By faith, he lived as an alien in the land of promise, as in a foreign land, dwelling in tents with Isaac and Jacob and his fellow heirs of the same promise. They never received it, but it was promised. And the promise stayed and depended upon God and God alone. He was looking for a city which had foundations, whose architect and builder is God. Abraham, after he left the Ur of the Chaldees, he never lived in a house again as far as we know, unless he did in Iran. He never lived in a house again. And Ur of the Chaldees was a great, it was like Egypt. It was great palaces and homes and irrigation and all types of modern devices. They had libraries. They had a civilized culture. They had homes. They had gardens. But he left all that because God called him out. And he never, as far as we know, ever lived in that type of amenities ever in his life again. He never had a home with walls and windows and a roof over his head. He always lived in tents. He became a nomad in the land. He became a pilgrim in the land. By faith, Sarah herself received the ability to conceive even beyond the proper time of life since she considered him faithful to her promise. And therefore also, there was born one man and him as good as dead, at that, as many descendants as the stars of the heaven, in number and numeral as the sand of the sea by the seashore. The stars of heaven are his spiritual seed, and that's you and me. If we believe in the sands of the seashore, even I have the blood of Abraham in my veins, some of it, according to my DNA analysis. Therefore, there was born of one man, and him as good as dead. At that, he was almost a hundred years old, and then he became over a hundred years old. As many descendants as the stars of heaven, number as numerable as the sands of the seashore. And all these died in faith. They all died in faith, without ever receiving the promises, but having seen them. never seen them, and having welcomed them from a far distance, and having confessed that they were strangers and exiles in the earth. You know, in 1976, I think it was, 1975 I was, in 76 I was in the Middle East. From probably December to May, I think, is the records that I have written down. And I was very ill with one of those dysentery things, amoebic dysentery over there from the bad water. But I got to go stand on Mount Pisgah, and I got to look into that promised land that was promised to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. And I looked in that far land, and of course I couldn't see all the way to the end of it in north or south. But I knew that that was what God had promised Abraham. And I knew someday that I may walk all of those lands by faith as I come down to visit. And yet I have got to see them with my own eyes. All these died in faith without ever receiving the promises. but having seen them and having welcomed them from a distance and having confessed that they were strangers and exiles upon the earth. Now we always look, everybody wants to go to heaven. Every false religion will promise heaven to its people. Every false religion except for atheism and all that causes you is annihilation supposedly which isn't going to happen. But all I'm talking about Hashemayim, about heaven, about the Uranus, about the heavens above. And the heavens above, as the Bible describes it, are much more glorious than everything Hephaestus gazed upon the earth. It's nothing like this here. The streets are paved with gold. The gates of that city are made out of pearl. Pearl, the foundations of precious stones. All of the things we call precious today, all the things that even gold is the gold standard at one time. Silver was the silver standard. And now we have the nothing standard. Fiat money. But we see in heaven that the gold standard is the paving material. That's the asphalt in heaven. And those who say such things make it clear that they are seeking a country of their own. And indeed, if they had been thinking of that country from which they went out, they would have had an opportunity to return. But as it is, they desired a better country. We desire heaven, don't we? We desire heaven. In heaven, you'll have no allergies. In heaven, you'll have no lack of sleep. In heaven, you will not have any pain. I remember, you know, When I was a young boy, I, my step-grandfather took me to wrestling matches in Bickertsville, California. I saw Gorgeous George and Wild Redberry. I saw Lou Thez. I saw Mr. Moto. I saw a lot of these wrestling stars. One of the greatest of all was Lou Thez. He was a real wrestler. He could teach a college wrestler, how to wrestle. And yet he wrestled some of these crazy people too. He said, Gorgeous George, I saw Gorgeous George down there. He said he could really wrestle. He could jump five feet in the air. He did. I've seen him do it. But in all of that's a lot of pain. Luthez said he had 200 broken bones, ripped and torn. Another man, wrestled him when he was 86 years old in Florida. He was a famous wrestler also. And he wrestled with Lutheus. He said the first thing he did, he said he butted me in his head, my nose, and my nose was bleak, and my teeth were zinging and hurting and loose. And he said, we wrestled for about a half hour, an hour, or something like that. When I got through, he said, I was whipped and beat up. The man loved to wrestle. But in wrestling, it's a lot of pain. Everything that we work for today takes pain and time and energy. You know what? Jesus, through His pain and time and energy, created heaven for us. He created heaven for us. He created all the universe that we could look upon. And we could see His glorious product of His employment, His works. They all desired a better country. Therefore God is not ashamed to be called their God, and he has prepared a city for them. By faith Abraham, when he was tested, offered up Isaac. And he who had received the promises was offering up his only begotten son. This is the type of Christ, the type of God the Father. Abraham was the type of God the Father. God the Father offered up his only begotten son, and not only did he offer him up, he did it. Jesus was crucified. He died. He was buried. And He rose again. Abraham was the type of that. But he did it. He went there and he was ready to cut his throat. But God stayed his hand. He said, In him whom it is said in Isaac your seed shall be called, he considered God is able to raise men from the dead, from which he also received him back as a type." By faith, Isaac blessed Jacob and Esau regarding things to come. By faith, Jacob, as he was dying, blessed each of the sons of Joseph and worshipped, leaning on the top of his staff. By faith, Joseph, who was also dying, made a mention of the exodus of the sons of Israel and gave orders concerning his bones. Joseph said, you're going to leave this country. There's a promise God has made and you're going to leave this country. Now in Hebrews also it says that for it is appointed unto man once to die and after that to judgment. We all have appointments. We all will die. You know, you don't think about death a lot. Maybe some people do, but you don't think about death a lot. In my age it's close to me. It's a real lot closer. than it was 10 years ago. Death is coming. And I have a promise, for all shall die. If the rapture doesn't come in the meanwhile, I'm going to go to a grave. I even got it picked out up here. But I believe that there's life beyond the grave. And I believe that when I die and close my eyes in death, that I will immediately be with God. that He shall usher me into His kingdom with at least two angels, probably. And they will take me there into the promise that I've had all my life. That I will see God, that I will see Jesus as He is. You know, we want to look forward to seeing our family, but I'm going to tell you what, let us see Jesus first. Let us see Him first. And then all the amenities of eternal life. By faith, Joseph, when he was dying, made mention of the accidents to the sons of Israel and he gave orders concerning his bones. He said, take me there. By way, all the sons of Israel were all buried in the land of Canaan, the land of Canaan. By faith, Moses, when he was born, was hidden for three months by his parents because they saw that he was a beautiful child and they were not afraid of the king's edict. Even on pain of death, They kept that child alive. But then when he come down and put him in the river, exposing him to the crocodiles and the great fish of the river, they built a little ark like many others had done. But they had faith that God would do something with this child. By faith, Moses, when he had grown up, after 40 years now, after 40 years living in that palace, refused to be called the son of Pharaoh's daughter, choosing rather to endure all the treatment with the people of God, all that ill treatment, than enjoy the passing pleasures of sin, considering the reproach of Christ greater riches than the treasures of Egypt, for he was looking to the reward. By faith he left Egypt, not fearing the wrath of the king, for he endured as seeing Him who is unseen. By faith He kept the Passover and the sprinkling of the blood, so as He who destroyed the firstborn might not touch Him." We're not talking about destroying angel now, we're talking about Jehovah. It wasn't on destroying angel, it is Jehovah. Jehovah passed over them. By faith they passed through the Red Sea. It's the Sea of Reeds in the Hebrew text. Of course, this is going according to the Septuagint. The writer here did not know Hebrew, but he was inspired by God. He said, through the Sea of Reeds, the Red Sea, they were passing through on dry land, and the Egyptians, when they attempted it, were drowned. By faith, the walls of Jericho fell down. after they had encircled for seven days. By faith, Rahab, the harlot, did not perish along with those who were disobedient after she had welcomed the spies in peace. By faith. Faith is of a divine origin. It doesn't come from you. It's a divine. She believed God. And then God gave her that faith. And what more shall I say, for time will fail me if I tell of Gideon, and Barak, and Samson, and Jephthah, and David, and Samuel, and the prophets, who by faith conquered kingdoms, performed acts of righteousness, obtained promises, shut the mouths of lions, quenched the power of fire, escaped the edge of the sword, from weakness were made strong, become mighty in war, put foreign armies to flight. Women received back their dead by the resurrection. Women's children, we're talking about the woman, the widow, that her son died and she was given that child back. Others were tortured, not accepting their release, in order that they might obtain a better resurrection. And others experienced mocking, discouraging, yes, even chains and imprisonment. They were stoned, they were sawn in two, they were tempted, and they were put to death by the sword. And they went about in sheepskins and goatskins, being destitute, afflicted, ill-treated. They went about in sheepskin and goatskins, and what the thing about that was, is they would take and slaughter a fresh sheep or a fresh goat, and then sew it inside out on the person and turn them out out there in the wilderness with the lions and the bears and wolves to eat them, even the coyotes, men of whom the world is not worthy, wandering in deserts and in mountains and caved in holes in the ground. All of these having gained approval through their faith did not receive what was promised. But God had provided something better for us so that apart from us they should not be Death will never overtake us, not to the eternal death. We have bound ourselves to God by faith, by believing, by trusting. And that trusting, that moment that we surrendered our lives, our minds, our hearts, our souls to God, the gift of eternal life, the gift of faith, we have. right now. Our Father, we thank you for this message from your word. Please forgive us for any failure. Please, I pray that it goes out throughout the world that this evangel, that this message, that this gospel that you gave to all of these men will go out throughout the world. Please forgive me where I failed you. In Jesus' name I pray.
